  1. Hood dent from golf ball - Paintless Dent Repair?

Might be a little deep for PDR in an aluminum hood, aluminum is quite a bit harder for PDR work because it doesn’t have memory like steel. Have a PDR guy look at it, a good one can do amazing things.
  2. Ford Service is telling me I need to sell my Bronco

Actually the crankshaft position sensor detects misfires. The O2 sensors will detect the unburned oxygen from the misfires. There really isn’t a connection between a bad O2 and any kind of engine failure. If a miss is detected, the PCM shuts off the injector(s) for that cylinder, so unless a...
  3. Ford Releases 7 Pin Tow Wiring for Factory Installation

It does connect to some wiring in the ABS system, but doesn’t require programming.
  4. Ford Releases 7 Pin Tow Wiring for Factory Installation

No, the controller is plug and play as far as I know, it just has the gain adjustment. The light kit requires programming several modules on the truck, but the brake controller is stand alone.
  5. Ford Releases 7 Pin Tow Wiring for Factory Installation

. That’s my plan, not sure I’ll ever need brakes, not the Redarc should be an easy add-on later if the brake wire to the 7 pin is already in place.
  6. Ford Releases 7 Pin Tow Wiring for Factory Installation

I looked at my yet uninstalled kit before I replied yesterday and it has all 7 pins populated.
  7. Ford Releases 7 Pin Tow Wiring for Factory Installation

My mistake. The wire is there and has the terminal on the end of it to plug into the connector behind LF fender. Sorry for the confusion, I remember reading somewhere that the wire wasn’t in the harness.
  8. Ford claims flat towing our 4 mo. old Bronco destroyed the transmission (not covering under warranty)

No DTCs will be recorded with the key off. The RCM can still record if power goes off in a collision, it has capacitor back-up power. No other modules do.
  9. Ford claims flat towing our 4 mo. old Bronco destroyed the transmission (not covering under warranty)

That data recorder he was referring to is in the restraints control module and it only records in the event of air bag deployment. No other modules on the vehicle record with exception of the Powertrain Control Module, it records select parameters in the event of a DTC being stored. No module...
  10. Ford Releases 7 Pin Tow Wiring for Factory Installation

You can buy the exact same controller from the manufacturer or on Amazon and skip the dealer hassle. You can go to that company’s website and download the instructions to see what you need to do to install. I can’t remember the company’s name but just search Bronco trailer brakes and it will...
  11. Ford Releases 7 Pin Tow Wiring for Factory Installation

Broncos did not offer trailer brakes even with the tow package. I’m guessing because they only have a #3500 tow rating. There are blunt cut wires above the accelerator/steering column to connect the aftermarket trailer module to the truck brake ABS module and to power and ground if I remember...
  12. Ford Releases 7 Pin Tow Wiring for Factory Installation

No, the brake controller is stand alone. Installing it at the same time is a good idea since you have to run a wire back to 7 pin and it could be run with the lighting harness. The brake module mounts on top of the panel under the steering wheel.
  13. Hard top rippled / cracking!

That will be covered by warranty, no problem. If you get any pushback from the dealer, contact Ford.
  14. Ford Releases 7 Pin Tow Wiring for Factory Installation

It does require programming, but the dealer program will update all modules so that the tow will actually function exactly the same as factory installed. This kit is THE way to go to tow with your Bronco. You can also install a $230 trailer bake kit that integrates with the Bronco brakes and...
  15. Two-week honeymoon with Auto Start-Stop

That’s what the owner manual shows, but I have diagnosed several ASS customer concerns (they actually complained that it wasn’t working) , and if you pull it up on a scan tool there are many conditions that have to be met for it to work. It would be hard to list them all in the owner manual...
  16. Two-week honeymoon with Auto Start-Stop

There are literally 80 to 100 conditions for auto start stop to function. Sitting on an incline? No ASS. Steering wheel turned too far? No ASS. Defrost on? No ASS. And the list goes on and on and on……. The most common thing that prevents ASS is battery condition, that’s the best thing...
  17. Chances I get this fixed under warranty? Subwoofer housing bolt broke

There is a TSB to replace the plastic panel retaining pins to tighten up the trim panel. If you can get to the other side of the hole, put a bolt through and a nut on the inside.
  18. Any mechanics on here? Having problems!

P0299 underboost code most likely a leak somewhere in the intake system or related to the tune. Could you hear any air rushing or hissing sounds when climbing the grades?
  19. UAW authorized Strike. Huge Demands!

What’s really driving the cost increase on Bronco is the demand. From the manufacturer’s viewpoint, if you can’t build them fast enough, the price is too low. They are in business to make a profit and will do so without apologies. Nobody holds a gun to anyone’s head to buy a Bronco. On the...
  20. UAW authorized Strike. Huge Demands!

The UAW contacts don’t allow the big three to open any plants without the UAW being in them. No bullying necessary.
