it’s an archaic platform. The 4.0 V6 with 270 HP and 278 ft/torque paired with the 5 speed transmission is a complete dog compared to Fords 2.7 (310 hp/400 ft/tq ) paired with a 10 speed. The Apple car play and TSS doesn’t change the fact the motor, trans, frame, body, suspension, and interior...
I have the 2.0 eco(Fusion) in my work car, just hit 107k with lifetime average of 26.5 MPG and 0 issues related to the power train. To date the company has only spent $600 on maintenance (fuel changes/battery) and 1 warranty claim (seat frame broke).
I will say you can get a 4 door base with hardtop and auto for $35,390 and the BB with hardtop, tow, 2.7, and auto is $40,560. Very much inline with the competion.
I can believe it as the 4Runner is currently on an archaic ten year old platform without Blind Spot or front radar cruise control safety options. It should be cheaper.
Haha glad I am not alone in my affliction. That 6 adds some $$$$. I know to wait for the Bronco but I so loved my Defender test drive. I barely made it out of the dealership without telling the dealer to take my money. Weird thing is I am now 50 and almost an empty nester and the Defender fits...
In all seriousness the Defender 110 trounces the Bronco in towing, payload, roof storage weight, rear seat comfort (has 3" more of rear leg room and rear A/C vents in console), and standard warranty (Defender has 4 year/50k bumper to bumper). The Defender 110 is rated to tow up to 8200 lbs, has...
Haha, those two NASs would pay cash for two First Editions with money left over if you still had them, lol. I actually bought a Ford Explorer in 1994 instead of a Defender. Biggest car purchase mistake of my life and I have bought over 20 new vehicles. I was worried about the maintenance cost...
I’m giving up having to make a choice between the Bronco 4dr BD, 2021 Gladiator Sports S Diesel, and 2021 Land Rover 110 S. I love all three for various reasons.
The body size is going to compare within inches of a wrangler, wrangler unlimited, and the Defender. The Jeep guys seem to gravitate to 35’s with a 2” lift for the most part. Look at those wheel set ups on and you will likely see what appeals best to you. I will say If the Bronco user...
I hope so. Really prefer the Bronco over everything. If a better hitch gets me to 5k I’m gold. Don’t plan to ever tow more than 3500 lbs. I have a crew cab full size Tundra that I can use if need be.
I get different folks and different interests. The Defender did do much better in the video with AT tires. For me, and I'd guess many others, we are planning to off-road at beaches, deer leases, forest and National Park trails as well as tow a small boat/mini-camper/ATV a lot more than than...
Disappointed in how much the Defender payload, towing, and rear seat leg room trounces the preliminary Bronco specs. Doesn't seem like Ford would have wanted to get punched like that and considering the Ranger has very good towing and payload with the same drivetrain is should have been better...
I’m upbeat. Set out to buy a Tacoma Off Road in 2017 and didn’t care for small back seat and inability to raise drivers seat without modifications, then waited on Gladiator and diesel left Gladiator for improved torque and F/E. . Gladiator had some initial steering box issues, bad wind noise on...
