  1. 📣 Ford announces MIC hardtop solution (program 21B49): unscheduled orders will get MY2022, delivered & built Broncos will have tops replaced

New All new tooling and an altered design. It became quite clear that even when manufactured exactly to spec that the design was flawed. The timeline here is optimistic, but the right move nonetheless.
  2. Painful (but responsible) solution to MIC issue decided. Announcement imminent.

Snagged tickets to see Shannon Powell at Preservation Hall on Saturday!
  3. Painful (but responsible) solution to MIC issue decided. Announcement imminent.

MIC info will be released soon enough. Also, as of today "full speed" production has been delayed indefinitely, as Rangers will far outweigh Broncos on final at least thru the planned MY21 run. Bronco's dedicated body shop has been sandbagged to spread work between both shifts.
  4. Painful (but responsible) solution to MIC issue decided. Announcement imminent.

So it's apparent that they've charted out their solution to the MIC issue. It's painful and it's going to contribute to some ugly headlines over the next few days, but it's the most responsible solution. If you're low on booze, pick yourself up something good to get you through a few rough...
  5. Hold on tight: Bronco production coming to full halt due to MIC top problems

Haartz makes the fabric and ships it to Webasto, who makes the soft top assemblies.
  6. Hold on tight: Bronco production coming to full halt due to MIC top problems

A *temporary* stoppage of production is happening to mitigate commodity constraints. A *full halt*of Bronco production is NOT among the options I've heard of.
  7. Bronco production update 8/9: Commodity issues far beyond MIC tops. Chip shortage reaches Bronco supply chain (NO COVID TALK)

Zero. Finger pointing, on the other hand, is likely at an all time high. The supplier told Ford they could build these to their spec. They couldn't. It's quite possible that NO supplier could build them to Ford's spec. So here we are.
  8. Bronco production update 8/9: Commodity issues far beyond MIC tops. Chip shortage reaches Bronco supply chain (NO COVID TALK)

Not likely, which is the biggest holdup right now. The backlash for widespread delivery of shitty tops compounded by the freight costs to deliver thousands of new tops and payouts to dealers for installing them... it's not a path they want to go down. Unfortunately, but unsurprisingly.
  9. Oxford White Wildtrak with Oxford Painted MIC Roof

Living with this current, inherently flawed MIC roof, which has several scratches after 1,651 miles of gingerly-handled service, I have gigantic concerns in how these paint jobs will fare. However, this looks fresh as hell.
  10. $100 reservation applied to purchase ?

It's absolutely and positively supposed to be credited to your truck at purchase. There is no mechanism that automatically applies it, so make sure they did. Hell, my cousin is my dealer GM who personally handled my purchase and still forgot this until I asked. Remember that the deposit was...
  11. Bronco production update 8/9: Commodity issues far beyond MIC tops. Chip shortage reaches Bronco supply chain (NO COVID TALK)

This. I'll hint around where I can, but most of what I've heard has been single sourced and I can't risk burning them.
  12. Bronco production update 8/9: Commodity issues far beyond MIC tops. Chip shortage reaches Bronco supply chain (NO COVID TALK)

LOTS of discussion here, and some of the options being brought up jive with *possibilities* being considered. AFAIK, there isn't a firm decision one way or another. All FEs will be built out in MY21 (and honestly those still awaiting a VIN and scheduling shouldn't be waiting too much longer)...
  13. Another dealership victim

My dad bought from Ricart from the late '70s thru mid '00s. They're still a great outfit if you want a quick, smooth transaction to get something off the lot. Wouldn't trust them with a custom order to save my life. My cousin is the Sr. GM for the Coughlin family and runs their new Ford palace...
  14. Bronco production update 8/9: Commodity issues far beyond MIC tops. Chip shortage reaches Bronco supply chain (NO COVID TALK)

I don't think they'll say much new until they're confident in what they're saying. If that makes sense.
  15. Bronco production update 8/9: Commodity issues far beyond MIC tops. Chip shortage reaches Bronco supply chain (NO COVID TALK)

We don't have a booster Venmo but if you send it to me (@RossMusick) I'll flip it right to the booster Paypal. If you include your email I'll copy you on the transfer notification for the sake of transparency. Thank you so much!
  16. Bronco production update 8/9: Commodity issues far beyond MIC tops. Chip shortage reaches Bronco supply chain (NO COVID TALK)

To my knowledge, none of the purgatory holds are waiting on chips. MAP hasn't built any Broncos without chips awaiting further installation as other Ford plants have. I've heard of some proposals but nothing that's started yet. No, emphatically. Hasn't happened, isn't happening, won't happen.
