The only cars that watch you for eyes on the road are self driving, Ford calls it Blue Cruise. It is not available on Bronco. The Cup of Coffee warning comes from wandering in your lane. It doesn’t take much movement in the lane, but certain kinds of steering wheel movements seem to trigger it.
They will have to clear the whole door to fix it. Not worth breaking the factory paint in my opinion. The repair could end up being worse than the smell hardly noticeable defect. A Bronco would be considered popularly priced car today, and not many popularly priced cars are going to have...
The coffee cup warning is triggered by “wandering “ in your lane. I don’t know the parameters that trigger it, but if you’re on a long trip on the interstate and you’re not really paying attention to staying right in the center of your lane, your corrections will set it off.
That happens to me too, I just consider it a testament to how well the Bronco drives down the road. They track so well that lane centering doesn’t see any torque applied on the steering wheel and assumes you don’t have hands on the wheel. I’ve driven Jeeps, and it’s safe to say that this...
The engineer explained that the Motorcraft oil specified a better additive package than the ConocoPhillips oil had. He also told me that on a normal day on the bottling line you would see various branded bottles getting filled with the same oil, but when they bottled Motorcraft that was all...
When I worked at Ford I met a chemical engineer who specialized in lubricants. Ford had always claimed that Motorcraft oil was superior to off the shelf brands. Many off the shelf brands are all the same oils, just in different bottles. He told me that he felt a little bad about not being...
The dealer is supposed to scrap them. Ford doesn’t want them back, too expensive to ship. If it was feasible to fix them, Ford would fix them rather than replace them.
You might crawl under it and disconnect the sway bar and check for moisture or corrosion on the terminals. That is a known issue. If there is moisture without corrosion, blow the connector out and put some electrical grease in the female terminals and plug it back in.
If a dealer charged 1.5 hours to R&R a winch and bumper for access to a warranty repair, that wouldn’t be a problem. I say that as a retired Field Service Engineer with Ford, I dealt with many similar situations. If they claim 4 hours, that would raise some eyebrows.
I’ve seen the dealer claim...
Actually Ford will pay the dealer reasonable clock time to remove and install any customer added accessories in order to perform a warranty repair or a recall. Problem is, many dealers don’t know that.
APIM is the Audio Protocol Interface Module. It drives the SYNC system and the display. I’m not sure how easy getting the APIM to program successfully is going to be if you are upgrading screen size. The dealer’s scan tool (FDRS) will try to program it like the original one, dealer programming...
If it’s just a few isolated spots it’s probably some kind of bug or bird crap. Usually they just etch the surface of the paint, but if left long enough they can do more.
There are a bunch of dealers with mobile service. If it costs more, it’s not by much. They are trying to tie you with them for larger in house repairs and future vehicle purchases.
$4400 is pretty steep. I seem to remember my ESP being around $2500 for 7 years- 100000 miles. It is the policy that covers everything but maintenance items. I wouldn’t have a new vehicle without having an extended warranty. Repair costs are out of control, I see it every day working in a...
It’s intended to keep them from falling off. They also sealed around the joint between the reservoir and the shock body to keep water out. Hopefully it works. Unless you live in the rust belt, they should be fine.
