So the Comp R fits the B&O enclosure without much modification? I thought everyone was using the Comp RT because it’s so much shallower. I’m looking to upgrade my sub with a key 500.1 and kicker 8”, but I’m a bit confused between the R and RT and the 2 and 4 ohm versions. Thanks for all the info...
I was also choosing between Goat and RCI. I was so close to ordering Goat, but ultimately waited for RCI’s 2dr version for the frame mount and the flatter step surface of the 5*.
I did buy Goatfab pinch flange hiders, and the service and responses from Adam are top notch. The hiders didn’t fit...
I think it would have been a bit cleaner if I’d used a different glue than superglue, and if the Mabett pods weren’t painted (the OE pods are molded in color). When I tried to clean the excess glue off, the paint came with it.
My $.02...
I changed my B&O FR/FL speakers to Hertz CX 100 (they won my extensive Crutchfield listen and compare session). Massive difference; I'm very pleased.
I changed my center dash speaker to the PRV AUDIO 4MR60-4 woofer, at the recommendation of some other threads. I don't really notice...
Looks awesome! Can’t wait to order, but I still can’t decide between 5 and 20 degrees. Definitely planned to be used as a step for a shorter passenger.
Shoot, I would have driven to The Cleve for that deal!
I did take advantage of Panda Motorworks 10% off Superbowl sale to order that same exhaust (but 2.3L), but no free install and back ordered a few weeks.
One thing I’d be interested to know is how many of us with nonexistent floor heat have Lux/auto climate control vs single zone manual. I’m thinking folks with the latter may be the ones with no issues.
I went with Focal Hertz CX100 in the front corners of my B&O. Liked them more than the DCX on Crutchfields listen and compare feature. Massive upgrade over stock. Sadly going to the 6.5” CX165 in the rear was not nearly as impressive of an upgrade. Ended up swapping them for component K 165...
I know the Vanguard is the smart choice, but I really want to see if the JCR Crusader (non-winch bumper) would work with the RC/Lobo hidden winch skid plate (I have a 2.3L).
Great looking ride, by the way
Yes 100%. Any fan speed at lower vehicle speed is fine because it sounds so consistent. Once I’m at highway speeds, any fan speed over 2 or so sounds turbulent, like the wind is forcing it’s way in. Dealer looked at it and said nothing was wrong (never mind the lack of airflow from the floor vents).
I just took mine off and moved one to the rear. That horse badge felt out of place in chrome. Sorry about the awesome reflection.
I’ve got some plastic EB script to try out on the fender and see how I feel about it.
I'm in Detroit and will have a set of OEM rails to sell just as soon as RCI releases their 2 Door frame mounted rails (plus lead time for me to receive and install them).
If you still need some then, we can probably work out a meetup.
I went with the Bartact handles with the rubber grips because I also didn’t like any paracord ones. They dangled right in my peripheral vision 5” from my face, so I flipped how they mounted (effectively shortened them) and have been pleasantly surprised.
