It's Ford's pay to play model. With BD you can pay extra to get Mid package, that's not an option on base model. You pay for the trim that offers the options you want to pay more for. Do the same to the Big Bend, you'll find the washout is really only 1-2k when compared apples to apples.

Good news is on the OBX with Roast, your biggest color blunder will be the grab handle and stitching. Grab handle is easily replaced. Stitching is a bit more difficult, but a sharpie might have you covered.
