As long as both people feel fulfilled and enjoy the relationship and aren't feeling violated or abandoned, all sorts of attachment styles can work. The problems come when one or both partners are unfulfilled. Attachment style isn't set in stone and can change. There are some amazing therapists and coaches out there, and some pretty amazing online content as well.

In my younger days I was much more insecure with attachment and bordered on secure. I'm firmly secure now. Wife was strongly Dismissive Avoidant and has moved much closer to secure but still has DA tendencies that she works on.

We end up apologizing a lot, we both grow by finding our strengths/vs just wanting to be aggressive, our 25+ years have been a mutual journey of growth love and forgiveness.

I'm very familiar with disordered thinking and disordered behavior. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder isn't something to joke about. Disordered thinking/behavior means that it is interfering with a normal existence. A little cognitive behavior therapy or coaching could go a long way with that. You can learn a ton about it on your own if you choose to do so.

I definitely have that issue. When I work on something, I want it exactly my way and that's that. I am also always pushing myself to achieve perfection (which is impossible) and even if you could achieve it, it's fleeting. I'm already planning the next car build and have pages of notes in a note app about several different builds.

I've learned a lot about that in the past 20 years or so. Learning to let go has helped with that a ton.
