So I just switched mic top with a used painted top. However the front side panels of the rear cap have a lot of flexibility (right along the vertical edge of that cap that’s next to the rear seat windows). See picture below. If it matters, my top has the white panels inside with the black soundproofing inserts. I’ve compared my top to a number of painted and MIC tops on the local Ford lot and they’re all much more solid along that edge. So I’m assuming either I’m somehow missing a seal that attaches vertically to the roof cap at that spot, or a seal that attaches to the body. Does anyone have any thoughts? Or perhaps your painted top is removed from a bronco and you can quickly check both?
Thanks all.

It’s hard to tell from that picture alone, but maybe it’s missing the front seal..?

Ducati you are fantastic. Thank you Sir. Not sure but I’m going to guess it’s the circled items. I will pop the top off soon and report back.

Ducati, the plot gets thicker. I haven’t confirmed yet, but I believe I have the seal I was looking at. However, after reviewing a bunch of online photos, it looks like there’s a modification to a trim piece that might be the problem. The first few pictures (if my order uploading them is correct) show the trim piece that goes under the front corner of the roof cap. But the next couple of pictures show that same trim piece modified. It basically looks thicker. If I’m right, I’m guessing Ford modified it to reduce wind noise and/or to fit painted roofs. The modified trim piece pictured comes from pictures of heritage Broncos, that’s why I know they came with a painted top. I’ll have to find those new trim piece parts.

It looks like the bottom pictures have an insert. Probably one of these depending on what would fit my trim.

I see what you mean, interesting that it says 21-26. Assuming they are different I wonder if they are backwards compatible.

There’s a handful of different part numbers for that, I’d assume you may need the last 2 if yours are incorrect:

Ducati, any way to tell which of the last two pictures I sent is the more recent part number? I’m thinking that insert design evolved and the later design is improved for wind noise.

OK did some more research including visiting two dealers today. I’m pretty sure I know which part number it is based on comparing how my two propose alternatives seem to fit. Picture below of the one I think it is. I’ll report back.

Not really, I would need a VIN from the vehicle the top came off of, or a similar one with the correct part.
