Does anyone know of a 1” to 1.5” lift kit that’s not a leveling kit? (Preferably a spacer lift but I’d consider a reasonably priced coil lift)

Every kit I’ve found so far that’s under 2” is a leveling kit but I want to maintain the factory rake for towing.

I’ve reached out to Rough Country to see if I can just put their 1” leveling kit on the front and rear but I haven’t heard back from them yet. Anyone here have any experience doing this?

Yes, I have done exactly this. It works fine. You just may need 2 kits if you want to raise both front and rear.

You just stack the spacers to get the lift and rake you want. (Just beware, you may hit a point where you run out of bolt thread on the coil over and need to replace the bolts - which is why the taller kits come with a collar to offset another set of mounting bolts)

Two kits, one for the front and one for the rear, is exactly what I had in mind, THANKS!!

Just keep in mind a 1" for the front is approximately a 3/8" or so spacer normally. The geometry of the front suspension is why if gives you more lift. The rear is closer to 1/1. So a 3/8" spacer will give you around 3/8" lift.
Plan accordingly.

Front is 1.5 times so 1" spacer will get you 1.5" liftand the rear is pretty much 1" for 1". Zone makes a few space/perch collar lifts that have the correct size pucks. @GI_Jo_Nathan beat me to it...

I would strongly look at 5100s or 6100s Bilstein shocks for what you want, factory shocks do not last long.

The RC kit, if I recall, is like four 1/4" spacers (2 per wheel, 1/2", yielding 1" of lift in front give or take if you use them both)

Very good information all, especially the difference in lift ratio between the front and rear, thank you!

This would be my preference but I haven’t had time to fully research it and we’re leaving for Ouray, Colorado next week. I was hoping a spacer lift would be a quick and inexpensive way to get the lift I wanted for now and plan for changing the shocks later.

Another question, what’s the purpose of the lower spacer in the Rough Country leveling kit? Other lift kits only have the top spacer.

Does the lower spacer have the same lift ratio as the upper spacers?

I’ve learned from a couple of online sources that the RC 1” leveling kit includes four 3/16” top spacers (2 per side) and two 1/4” lower spacers (1 per side).

I bought a set of Radflo Standard Travel 2.5 coilovers and will have them set at 1.5" lift when they are installed tomorrow. The OEM Hitachis are pretty shot at 87,000 miles on my 2021 OBX. The Radflo can theoretically be set at 0-2". Replacement UCA'S are hard to find, since most aftermarket UCA'S expect a 2-3 " lift, and therefore will overcorrect Caster, im told. Will post when done.

I’m guessing:

It’s RCs way to try to correct for alignment since, as @lakesinai points out - most aftermarket UCAs will try to overcorrect.

Probably wouldn’t need to install them unless you couldn’t get camber in, but a 1” lift there ~should~ be enough adjustment to so so

Start at post 47 on my 38s build below.
I just added the spacers and not the rig on the front of my 2in Zone kit.
I would call the different companies and make sure what end results will be.
The way I did the 2in lift gave me 1in rear and 1 3/8s front being I had added a winch and stuff the extra 3/8 I didn't mind.

A 2in leveling kit gives you 1in rear and 2in front.

After a lot of research, and the great feedback from this thread, I’ve decided to go with the Bilstein 5100’s. I wasn’t really crazy about the idea of using the RC leveling kit to lift all four corners in the first place.

Not surprisingly, Rough Country support said they couldn’t recommend mixing and matching the spacers from multiple kits on the front and rear because they haven’t tested it.

My local custom shop can have them in by Monday and have them installed by either Monday or Tuesday. We leave for Colorado Wednesday afternoon, so as long as the install goes well, we should be in good shape.

Thanks to all for the feedback and suggestions!

If you're incurring the labor cost of replacing the struts, then do a mild spring upgrade, such as Eibach.

You know the more I think bout it, the Hitachi's aren't worth the effort to reinstall. I would do take off yellow Bilsteins if you can get low mileage ones for a good price. You'll get much more benefit than just the lift.

Good suggestion but at this point I don’t have time to order replacement springs and get them installed before our trip, but I’ll definitely consider that if I need to pull the shocks for anything in the future.
