Thinking about trading in Badlands non Sasquatch.

I bought a 26 Badlands in May. This is my daily driver which I take to local trails on weekends 2-3 times a month and on overland adventures 3 times a summer.

I really haven't needed the disconnect but I have noticed I could use more clearance. I was planning on front and rear 6112s and some new wheels with 35x12.5 tires. That's probably all I'll ever need.

However I'm worried about the 4.46 and wondering if I'm better off taking a $$ hit and just trading in on a Sasquatch.

I'm worried the bigger tires won't allow the 4.46 to ever get into the cruising gear on the highway and tricky spots on the trail will become more challenging.

Am I better off losing a few thousand dollars and trading for a bronco with Sasquatch package?

I think the Badlands has the 4.46 gears so going to Sas to get 4.7 gears isn't that big of a change and most likely not worth the $$$ hit. If you ever think you want to go to 37's, then it will help a little. I have a base Sas and the 4.7 with 37's I went to make for a great combo but staying with 35's the 4.46 should be more than enough.

2.7, no tune. I haven't done the wheels and tires yet, if I upgrade, I'll try to stay light but I'm not getting these Goodyears again.

I honestly think you could go all the way to a mickey T 37 with that gear, I have run 38's on 4.10 gears. not ideal but it works. You are just shy of 4.56 and we ran 38's on those all the time with much lower power v8's.

Why the inferred dislike of them?

Mine have some bulging in the sidewalls, which concerns me about durability. They throw rocks much worse than other tires I've had. I hear they aren't great in snow which is a big deal for me. I've always had ko2 on previous vehicles, I would probably try the ko3.

Please run the math by me. Unless you are looking at giving up a bunch of options, I envision a $5k hit, to get very little extra gearing.

Trading in for just Sasquatch would make it easy, but not much of a gain. 25 Badlands, putting on 35", and adding the tune would give you everything and some except 4.7 gears. Add Hoss 3.0 and Zone 2.25 HOSS 3.0 lift kit to yours; now you've surpassed a sasquatch. My build is living proof.

For the love of criminy, get rid of them rock throwing bastards. Also, there are some rock rails that can help block the rocks coming up on your rocker panel (my SFR rails do that pretty well). And no, I don't think you need to trade it in for the 4.7. The EcoBoosts run better at a little higher RPM anyway.

Personally, I would suggest the Ford Performance Fox kit for the lift and maybe some wheel spacers if your rims aren't +35 or less. You could get Ford to install and keep your warranty and have a pretty nice ride.

One caveat is that the e-disco can be fragile. Maybe an accumulation of things about yours will make you want to trade it in, but there isn't anything pressing IMO.

Trade it in for a 7MT, of course.
But really, there's not that much to gain.
You will never notice the 4.46s, they're plenty for 35s and you have 10 speeds in your auto.
You still have 4L, a very low 1st gear, and a torque converter, so you can go arbitrarily slow.
The Sasquatch suspension and tires are not worth the price, especially on a Badlands. You get almost everything already.
Just yank your crash bars and get the lift and tires and you'll be better off than a factory Sasquatch.

You do t need to trade in your non SAS. I have a 22 badlands with SAS, I have had 40” tires on it, the Bronco loved it, I live in the rock mountains and have traveled I70 east to west too many times at speed, I didn’t noticed any problems with not having power, or hurting the mpg too bad.

Do you know how the Ford Performance suspension stacks up against the Bilstein 6112? I see the 6112 recommended a lot. I do like the idea of keeping the warranty as I own my vehicles a long time.

It's the WildTrak suspension. I would expect it to be better since it's supposed to be the premium non-Raptor suspension. I've driven a 2dr WT a couple times and thought it was nicer on the road than the stock BL Bilsteins.

They're also rebuildable, so you can send them to Fox and they'll repair them, which is usually a sign of a better made shock. I think you'd have to get up to the 8112's for rebuildable Bilsteins, and those are almost twice as much as the Foxes. (The 6100's might be rebuildable, I've just never seen anyone mention that.)
