I saw a metal bar someplace that filled the opening in the back of the roof panels, who made that.

It was on a 2 door I believe and it attached to the roll cage and made using the 3 center clamps possible. Did I imagine this?

Nah, not imagining. In my past search I found 2, one from a fab shop/guy that sold them on Etsy for around 275. The other was more elaborate and could include a light and was from an off-road place but it was 5-600 bux. I almost bought the first one but when I finally decided to he no longer sold them. I ended up just running the 2 front panels when the rear is off, without issue even at highway speeds. If I can find pix I will add. The other option that ...might work is the stabilizing brace for the Raptor that is available from FORD. There are 2 and I think you'd only need the front one but dunno if it really would fit ...and was spendy when I looked.

the other one was from a place in NJ called Krazy House Customs, but they don't seem to sell it anymore...and I never kept a picture.

Boy was I way off 😂 misunderstood what you were looking for
You're not too far off. I have the 2-door version of the DV8 panel, and have thought about how to add some sort of bracket/brace to line up with the front roof panels to make it serve the same purpose. It's definitely doable, but I don't have the engineering/fabrication skills to make it happen.

That Etsy one was probably it. I thought it strange making it out of metal when plastic in the same color as the roof would be better.

Those companies making fender flares, door buckets, trim accessories out of plastic could be making a piece to give the rear roof line a finished look.

Sorry I am a ham fisted designer. But something like this I would buy. I imagine would work for the 4 door as well when you want just a backless look.
