My son and I took it off once for a couple days, and we all liked it so much we just bought the @EZ4X4 lift, for a few reasons.
Nobody in my family is tall enough except he and I to get it off since it is a 3" lift SAS.
He is going off to college.
The Lift is way cheaper than replacing any parts or the top itself.
Takes about 10-12 minutes to open her up all the way front to back.
Only takes one person, and the lift folds up and out of the way.
When we did take it off, we set it carefully on the garage floor, and the little guide pins seemed fragile, basically like if someone walked into it they would break off, and I did not want to play that game. I am not an advertiser for EZ4x4, but the product seemed to be worth the Buy Once cry Once and the item is very solid, and the top is safe from damage.
