This question applies to both 4-door MIC and Modular roofs. Can the Rear Cap section of the roof (see below) be removed when the Front and Mid sections are still locked down?

If the 2 door can do it, I don't see any reason why the 4 door can't. IIRC someone said for around town and offroading is fine, but not for highway use in that configuration.

Can the 2 door do it? I haven’t seen any photos of this roof configuration. I’ve only seen the front panels removed.

Are they worried my shopping bags from the mall will blow away on the highway?

HAhaah

No the other panels lock into the rear cap. Driving too fast without the rear cap they may fly off
I was afraid of that. The Mid panel
Doesn’t connect to the roll bars?

Someone will need to come up with some lockdown accessory to make it practical and drivable?

We’ve seen the 4 door with the front panel on and the mid panel removed (similar to the 2 door Image above with the front panel on), but I don’t think we’ve seen an image with both the front and mid panels on and the rear end removed. Guessing it is possible, but we just haven’t seen it yet. Probably a similar warning not to do this at highway speeds.

I know how much we all love the images in the B&P, so here’s a shot inside a 4-door. 3 side latches: back edge front panels late to the side (front panels should be secured on all corners), front edge middle latch clips to the side, but back latch looks like it connects to rear (no attachment to side, so mid panel back would be flopping in the wind). So this means maybe the driver stays dry and doesn’t need as much sunscreen as the back seats? Just keep the drain plugs open?
