Has anyone else added ditch lights to their Bronco? I'd love to hear how you've aimed yours and where you've found them most useful on the trail.

I have combination lights and I aim them so they enhance my high beams while driving at night. I have them aimed just outside where my highbeams illuminate. Obviously I turn them off when cars approach but I live in an area that is overrun by deer on a two-lane highway and it’s amazing what you can see with the ditch lights on. I have them hooked up to the far right aux switch so there’s no fumbling around trying to find the right switch to turn off when cars approach. As soon as my auto headlights shut down, I flip the switch until the car passes. My bronco headlights are already pretty good, but this really helps. And, since they combination flood and spot, they still do a great job of illuminating the ditches near the Bronco.

That is my experience exactly. Two close misses on deer in the first three months I had my Bronco. My new ditch lights are great and should help me avoid such near misses. Like you I used the far right switches but I used both of them, one right and one left. That way I can leave the right ditch light on without affecting oncoming traffic.

Hmmm…I’ve been considering adding ditch lights. Not sure I need 2 on each side, though. Install looks painless but need to figure out the aux connections. I’m adding this to my “watch for a sale” list.

How did I aim them? I went out to a dark trail and turned on all my lights and then pointed them toward the dark areas....LOL...

This pic was after they were "aimed"... This street was dark as could be locally. without the lights it was actually hard to make out the rig.

And yes my ditch lights are actually pointed toward the "ditch" about 25 to 30 degrees away from straight forward.... That is where the "dark" was...

AND yes I have rear facing "ditch" lights as well.... (sometimes I have to back up.)

Yea well living in Idaho where we have locations that are darker than the "dark sky reserves" sometimes you need to see what is on the trail... and then again sometimes you need to actually find the trail LOL...
