My ‘22 Wildtrak caught fire and burned to the ground

I was just thinking about squirrels and mice building nests in engine compartment. If they had built near turbo, would the heat be enough to combust the nest ? Then possibly cooking a fuel line. Or could critters have gnawed through the wiring possibly. I found a mouse had beein in a Kleenex box in my glove box on my Slingshot. They make quite a mess. Also had mouse build nest in my Goldwing Air Filter once. After started using K&N they seem to have stayed way. Probably the oil repelled them.

Did we hear from the OP on the cause of the fire once investigated? Squirrels love the engine bay insulation on our Subaru, and I occasionally check it and spray pepper-baaed small animal repellent.

I didn’t realize this was an old thread until I got down to the people being jerks sarcastically insinuating it couldn’t have been electrical wiring. They were instead blaming the vehicle fire on you running over a pothole or something in a construction zone.

I was like wtf, we just had a recall on this?? Then I checked the date. Looks like some users on here owe OP an apology.
