The Braptor is purpose built to be the best, store bought offroader in the US, bar none. It is not for everybody but anyone that thinks it is simply a oversized gimmick has no idea what they are talking about. It can smoke a wrangler 392 in high speed open desert running and is very close to the jeep in advanced rock crawling and then makes a very decent daily driver to boot. I currently own one and previously owned a Badlands. Both are great but the the Braptor-by virtue of engineering and upgraded equipment-is in a performance league all of its own. I made a commitment to myself to drive the Braptor as close to its potential as my skills would allow or not buy it in the first place., which I have done. That said, if somebody wants to buy a vehicle that is capable of doing things that the owner will never do, I could care less.
Oh, I’m not saying the Braptor is not capable. No argument. It’s a beast. I’m just saying its image is as much of its appeal as its engineering. And I’d concur with someone’s earlier conjecture that in general they’re off-roaded at an even lower percentage than other Broncos (but higher than 0%!). Costing $90K probably also a factor.

My unscientific Utah test is ‘how dirty is your vehicle?’ You get dirty fast here when you get off the pavement, but 8 out of 10 Broncos I see are spotless, with tires shining. So either people are heading straight to the car wash from the trail, or that 10-15% figure tracks. I’m guessing the latter.
…On our wheeling trips I try to wash ours after each day of wheeling. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Nope- not me. I live in ugly, flat Colorado. No need for 4wd here.

Driving off road is dumb and dangerous. I destroys the environment and ruins resale value of the vehicle. They need to ban that nonsense.

...I think proves that people will buy something that looks cool and capable even if they don’t even have a plan to go off-road.
Same applies to the 'Adventure Bike' genre in the motorcycle world.

A comfortable, upright seating position, plenty of power and nimble handling sells a lot of customers. Being able to off-road is nice but in reality, a 500-650 pound bike off road is still a pig. The real appeal is comfort. A sport bike is not fun for longer rides. Cruisers handle like crap. Sitting upright in a natural position is a huge seller for people that actually ride and explore, not just go to the bar.

You sir, are an aberation!
Makes it easier to check the paint lines if they aren’t covered in dirt and mud. For some reason I have this weird, persisting fear of my brakes falling off…

When I showed the pics and videos of my most recent trip to Moab to my service advisor at the Ford dealership where I purchased, and have my Bronco serviced, he said I’m the only Bronco owner, at his dealership, he is aware of that uses their Bronco for what it was designed for. I was surprised to hear him say it.

Oh, I’m not saying it’s a bad idea. When I’m done with a day of trails I’m usually at a campsite with no running water. I’m going to try to not think of my brakes falling off now. ;-)

If you don’t have aerospace portals you should be fine. Maybe double check the LCA ball joints though 😉

I'd bet the percentage of Raptor owners that go offroad is a lot smaller than Bronco owners.

Has anyone seen a Braptor on a dirt road even?
I try to make up for the pavement stuck Bronco’s.
