Sorry for the confusion there.

Great question! The harness doesn't route through the roof into the cabin. It exits on the passenger side of the rack and is secured along the rack/body with the included clips and zip ties before routing into the passenger-side taillight area, where it connects using the supplied plug-and-play harness. So while there is a short exterior wire run, it's designed to be tucked neatly against the rack and body rather than hanging loose. Hope that helps!
