Please Help! Suspension Knock at Low Speeds

• 2023 Badlands Non-Sasquatch 2.7
• 41,000 miles
• Mostly DFW city miles, some heavier off roading (2-3 times per year)
• Suspension/Geometry mods - replaced stock BFG KO2 33’s with Toyo Open Country AT3 35’s. Added Eibach Pro Lift Kit Springs to front and back for 1.5 inch lift and to level. Removed crash bars. Kept stock shocks.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out what is making this popping/knocking sound when I turn the wheels at low speeds.

The dealership told me they couldn’t figure it out either, which is concerning.

Has anyone else had this same issue? What is the diagnosis and how did you fix it? Could it be as simple as Forscan adjustment of the tire size? UCAs or tie rods or alignment? Or it is a bigger issue?

First thought would be steering rack if it’s only happening with turning.
Check out the active thread titled “lower control arm” where a clunk sounding very similar is being tracked down, maybe some ideas on things for you to check.

I'd use a stethoscope (Harbor Freight) and probe while someone turns the wheel. I think you might even be able to feel the vibration that's causing the noise. For example touch the tie-rod while the wheel is being turned. Then touch other places.

Lisle and other companies make mechanic's stethoscoopes. They're very handy.

Lift the front off the wheels, if you have jacks stands or whatever, then turn the wheels. See if it still makes the noise. Could be anything. But my Isuzu rodeo makes that noise when I forget to grease the ball joints.
