Took a trip up to Chattanooga this past weekend. Second day we were there I went to remote start the Bronco but it wasn't responding - no error message, just swirled when I went to start it. Didn't think much of it.

When we got back to Georgia on Sunday, I noticed that the data wasn't updating - the gas level was the same as it was when we were in TN. When I hit location it was still showing the Bronco in Chattanooga.

Over the past couple of days I've tried clearing cache, deleting the app and uninstalling and none of it worked -still showing the Bronco in Tennessee, same fuel level, unresponsive to lock/unlock/remote start.

Today I removed the Bronco from the app and tried to add it back. When I follow the steps it is not communicating with the Bronco. Tried resetting the radio/head unit, followed the troubleshooting guide, nothing.

When I was trying to get it to communicate I got a notification on my phone indicating that it can't change the "authorization rights" for the Bronco. See attached screenshot.

Any ideas? Seems like maybe something in the Bronco went kaput? I tried searching but couldn't find anything relevant. Prior to this weekend Ford Pass app has worked without issue since the day I got the Bronco in August '24.

I would agree, it sounds like the cellular modem in the vehicle has stopped working.

Pretty sure it's a dealer-only type of service, but should be under warranty.

Battery reset is probably worth a shot. I am loath to bring it to the dealer but may have to if that doesn't work. I'm hoping maybe there's something in Forscan I can do??

you know a few days ago mine didn't start via the app, just spun and spun. HAven't tried yet since. I'll give it a go when I'm back at the house.

Also try connecting the Bronco to your home Wifi if you haven't done so yet, might help diagnose the problem. If the Wifi connection works, then the car can at least phone home to Ford, and might be able to be updated or reconfigured etc.
Back when I had my Ford Edge, the app could function while it was connected to wifi, because the Edge did not have a modem.

Modem was out in mine when I bought it used. It was the only thing that has given me trouble. I tried to add it to my name, but it kept messing up and saying I had to contact the prior owner or something like that.

Dealer figured out the modem shat the bed. According to my dealer, it was a pain to get into the dash to replace it. It took them a long time to get it and do it as well. Hope your experience goes better if that's the case.

I don't use the ford pass app, nor do I care about my Bronco getting 'tracked', so if mine goes out again, I'm leaving it alone.

Yeah definitely sounds like the cell modem went kaput. If you want that functionality back, good chance it'll have to go to the dealer. A battery reset MAY help but I'd be ready to take it in.
