If it was offered in a 2D, I'd be interested! Would be more interested in a 2D Raptor (Cliffhanger).

Also.... I'm not in the 30-50 crowd, nor in the "for those who the Raptor doesn't appeal to" that has been mentioned in prior comments.

I am in the early 60's, Single, Retired and can afford any vehicle I choose group.

@fomoco... IMHO is currently missing the mark with my group. As in the older ones without kids that want the 2D. Because where the "B" Plier (among other things) on the 4D doesn't work for us.

With you. Except for the Raptor. Which is why I have a 2DR loaded Badlands. I’m not sure our group is big enough for Ford to really care about.

That would be why I own a 2 door.... But I an not the target here.... My neighbors are.

I must live under a rock. I have never heard of the brand Filson or that they make clothes.

My guess is people from Jackson Hole wear this brand. 😂
Hah.... the "Jackson Hole" reference is shockingly helpful to visualize it. The outdoorsy lumberjack-chic look, more or less.

I too have never heard of Filson.

Granted, my idea of clothing is whatever is on-sale at Kohl's, so not surprised. But ya know, I have heard of "Patagonia" before so... I don't think I'm a totally ignorant live-under-a-rock type?? I hope??

🤷‍♂️

---

Anyway... both of the new exterior colors are home runs. The copper in particular... yup I'd buy that.

And the fact they have a Bronco Filson and a Bronco Filson First Edition leads me to believe the Filson is intended to be a multi-year trim and not a one-off. Nice.

Just noticed they stole my mod! This has the capable bumper like I have but I trimmed the end caps to give it a softer look. very subtle I and no one has ever "identified it" as far as I know but to me it does change the look from the front.

Whoa... wait a second... it looks like the end cap on the green one is trimmed but the end cap on the red one is not.... Interesting.

It’s preproduction, grabbed some old parts to make use of them.
The only people looking at this right now are enthusiasts, why put something out that isn't ready for prime-time. They got over their skis on this release.

What about his is not "ready for prime time"???? I am guessing you don't like it.

But isn't that why they make a lot of different Broncos? Because everyone has different likes and dislikes?

Interesting, newsy bits from that MSN article:

“… From the outside, the Bronco Filson doesn’t stray too far from the familiar, but a few details help distinguish it from other Broncos. A unique grille with small perforated holes, painted fender flares and mirror caps, and its own trail sights on the corners of the hood. The signature color is Field Green Metallic, although buyers will also be able to choose from Marsh Gray, Avalanche Gray, Desert Sand, Shadow Black, and Oxford White, all of them previously available on the Bronco.

(so more like a trim, than an edition?)

Ford will celebrate the launch with a limited First Edition model for North America. Buyers who opt for the First Edition will get a few extras, including exclusive Iron Sands Copper Metallic paint, a unique fender badge, a serialized console plaque commemorating the Ford-Filson collaboration, and additional Filson-inspired cargo storage bags. Filson fans will also be able to buy merch from the Filson by Bronco collection, which debuts tomorrow.

(so this is the ‘edition‘ and for an EXTRA few thousand, you‘ll get an exclusive limited run color, some numbered badging, and a couple more saddle bags.)
Correct I saw that also and forgot to post. The RUST is the 1st edition. You will be able to get the other colors in the Filson trim. The bags and stuff I bet you can add on.

Agreed. Here in the PNW I see more Defenders and Land Cruisers than Broncos. It’s an opportunity that I’m sure Ford has its eyes on.
The one thing they are missing is all those vehicles are fixed roof. I think they missed an opportunity here to introduce a new roof option which would be a 1 piece roof that covered front/rear seats (can still remove) with a sun/moonroof built in.

Ive heard from a few that they'd buy a Bronco if they offered a better roof/option or fixed roof in general.

I bet that’s in a future roadmap, as you’re right that it would appeal to this customer. Probably too long to retool to have it ready for 2027.

Yep. I'm glad you are being honest and also logical with all your posts.

This edition is a big deal IMO.

It's addressing a segment that many of us, including myself, were wanting out of a Bronco. Again coming from a Ford EB Sport for 20+years and loving it, to going to an Audi and seeing just how nice some interiors can be, and wanting to get back into a Bronco but the interior qualities weren't there yet and now all these offerings on this, it checks the boxes for me and I bet a lot of other folks.

3.0 engine is great. Ventilated seats and heated rears great. Acoustic glass (if you haven't had it's awesome). Better B&O sound system, higher end materials inside and all the other external mechanical features this will sell well IMO.

Talked to them at the auto shows, the person there I spoke to said the Bronco will never get a fixed roof (which I think is stupid).

But again, I think if they offered a 2 piece roof, which would be rear over trunk area and then other piece cover front/rear seats with a mechanical sun/moon roof option, most would opt for that. It would also help with less leak seem points because you wouldn't have the "T" between the front/passenger/rear seats. Just the roof.

I'm just amazed they haven't thought of this year. Most I know that have the Bronco barely take the roof off.

I think this is about as rough a trail as a Bronco Filson owner is going to do. But hey — still something. It’s not pavement, and that counts.

PS: I’m going to be shocked if this is a MSRP that‘s less than Stroppe’s initial $78K.

I think that's the most that many do in their Bronco. The ones on here are a far cry from most Bronco/Jeep owners. 90% people buy them for are the looks.

I think 1st Edition will be up there with Stroppe. I think regular edition will be lower by a little.
