Feb. 2022 build with 33k miles. Getting a bit sparkly from patina, but still on my original glass. I have a permatex chip repair kit on deck, but haven't had to use it yet.

2022 with roughly 43k miles... still on original, no chips or cracks, I do have the weather tech hood deflector that was installed fairly soon after purchase.

Original February 2024 windshield with an ever lengthening crack all the way across a couple inches from the bottom. As long as it stays towards the bottom, I’m not changing the windshield out until it gets another crack, which I’m sure it will at some point. My insurance gets cheaper every year and I like it that way lol
I thought about putting a deflector on the front just to protect the paint on the hood and maybe keep some bugs off the windshield? I don’t know..

Still original 4 years and 45 miles out. I have a. hood deflector b. plastic sheeting.

Lots of dings in it....but that's it. I don't understand why folks don't use those immediately.

😅 I came across yet another cracked windshield post this morning, and it got me thinking...

At this point, windshield cracks seem to be one of the most common topics in the Bronco community. Some owners make it years without an issue, while others end up with a crack surprisingly early.

Personally, I'm curious:

How long did your original Bronco windshield last before the first crack or major rock chip?

And for those who have already joined the "cracked windshield club" 🍻, have you found anything that actually helps?

I've seen owners mention everything from changing driving habits to hood deflectors and windshield protection film, but opinions seem to be all over the place.

Also, a bit of a selfish question from our side...

If Mabett ever looked into a Bronco hood deflector, is that something you'd actually consider installing, or do you think it wouldn't make much difference?

Interested to hear some real-world experiences.

22,000 miles on my '23. Drove it across the country, all over Colorado and Utah and back to the east coast, original windshield with no issues. Guess I'm either really lucky or those that have frequent issues do in fact follow too closely as I've seen others mention before.

Purchased new in Sept 22, and not a single chip or crack and still on the factory windshield at 37k. I credit the Ford Aeroskin II wind deflector with raised lip for this.

22 with 21k miles. Still original. Few little chips the size of a dull pencil lead. Might fill them one day. Hood deflector is a no for me, even though it would have prevented 2 paint chips. But if you ever come out with a 70-80’s corrugated aluminum camper type top found on pick-ups back then count me in. Then I might get the deflector.

22 Badlands SAS, 69,900 miles. My first crack was in the upper pass. side corner at 2-weeks old. Along the way I have added a crack in the lower driver corner and 5 or 6 chips in the middle of the pass. side. So far nothing in the line of sight that bothers me. Still on the original glass.

Had mine for almost three years now. Got a rock some time last year, but it was small. Safelite filled it up and it's been good ever since. Haven't even had another rock hit me. 🤞🏻

I got a crack within the first 4 months of owning my Bronco, but after getting the bug deflector put on, I have not had any cracks or spiders. I do have pitting all over my glass though..
