OP if you have HOSS 2.0 I recommend 2004 Ranger tie rods. I've been observing their performance since I discovered the interchange a few years back and the Ranger ones are both dirt cheap and have a tendency to bend instead of snap.
I can do it in about 10 minutes at home. It's a 1, maybe 2 out of 10 on the difficulty scale, every 6G owner that wheels should at least be familiar with the process. Funny enough I've still never broken one even on heavy 37s.I was with a group of Broncos running Top of the World and one of the guys broke a tie rod we had a replacement tie rod installed in about 45 minutes. A good chunk of the time was getting him off the rock and into a better spot to do the repair.
I carry a pair of tie rods and all the tools needed along with the badlands 1.5ton off road jack, just in case.
