OP if you have HOSS 2.0 I recommend 2004 Ranger tie rods. I've been observing their performance since I discovered the interchange a few years back and the Ranger ones are both dirt cheap and have a tendency to bend instead of snap.

I was with a group of Broncos running Top of the World and one of the guys broke a tie rod we had a replacement tie rod installed in about 45 minutes. A good chunk of the time was getting him off the rock and into a better spot to do the repair.
I carry a pair of tie rods and all the tools needed along with the badlands 1.5ton off road jack, just in case.
I can do it in about 10 minutes at home. It's a 1, maybe 2 out of 10 on the difficulty scale, every 6G owner that wheels should at least be familiar with the process. Funny enough I've still never broken one even on heavy 37s.

Heavy duty tie rods on the weakest rack you can get in a bronco.
Not the best plan.
Just carry stock replacement or ranger tie rods.

Are you still on a 190 front diff? I just went to 37’s last weekend. Broke my 190 diff last summer. Put another back in because the 210’s were on back order and I had to have the truck.

Just broke a tie rod trying to crawl up a rock face. Is this a common problem? And while I'm replacing tie rods, are there any good aftermarket, stronger replacements?
Suggest you edit your post to say what vehicle you have. You previously mention a 2021 Outer Banks (what I have). While your photo shows the tires and flares of the Sasquatch upgrade, we don't know if that's an owner upgrade of a non-sasquatch vehicle, or OEM. It matters, because of the different drivetrains. If non-sasquatch, do you have the rear-locker, 4.27 axles & 4a Auto Transfer Case? If it's an oem Sasquatch, it will have all but one of the switches on the dash. Photo the dash for us.

If it's a non-sasquatch 2021 OBX, you cannot upgrade the steering rack, because the computer cannot be reprogrammed to accept the Ford upgrade. If you upgraded to 37" tires, you're guaranteed to break tie rods in high stress conditions. Unless you work on your own vehicle, consider reverting to 35's. Lots of good advice here re: tie rods.

It was 2024 that the BL got the HOSS 3.0 rack and FP tie rods. I have a 23 and it came stock with HOSS 2.0.

The cheapest thing to do is get spare inner rods and a tie rod kit and know how to use it. You can swap to a HOSS 3.0 w/FP tie rods, but beware the official FP rack and process is broken and doesn't work for a lot of people, even going to a dealer to get it done. Using the thread BigMeatsBronco started here with the full process works best, but if you can't/won't do it yourself, you'd need to find a dealer or shop willing to work with you. Expect $3k give or take. And you probably still want spares. 😬
The 2021 non-sasquatch OBX cannot be programmed for the upgraded rack, not sure what he has!

Good to know.
This isn't entirely true.

It is a fact that Ford lists the Severe Duty Steering as non-compatible. And it's also true that using the Ford software installation method with the ProCal programmer, that it won't work.

What Ford doesn't also say is... for most people, even those who ~do~ have a compatible model Bronco, the ProCal programmer doesn't work anyway. I've not heard of a single person who had the Performance Tune previously installed who was able to make it work without spending hours on the phone with Tech Support and having them fix something remotely. And many folks without the Performance Tune are saying the same thing.

There is a work around using Forscan and FDRS on these forums, it works with all models of Bronco, including those which are not listed as compatible.

That's good to know that it's possible to upgrade my 2021 non-sasquatch OBX steering rack to the 3.0 version . . . After I impersonate someone else's VIN and try to find someone to do that complicated work-around programming! Doesn't sound like a dealer would? I think I'll stick with 33's or 35's!

Beyond the theory, is there a case on here of a person who has actually upgraded the non-sasquatch OBX to a 3.0 steering rack? That would be nice to read.

Broncbuster sells them pre-programmed. Not sure about your model, you’d have to ask.

Do you carry just the inner tie rods or both the inner and outer as spares ? Is the left and right the same part numbers?
