Magnaflow Axle Back Exhaust Drone

Installed a magnaflow axle back on my 25 OBX 2.3, not necessarily for power but it looks so much better than stock.
Went on a 400 mile trip the wife the same day. Worst trip of my life. The exhaust drone was so bad couldn’t even talk with
each other. One pissed off wife. After experimenting a couple times, found a 60 inch J pipe installed in the mid pipe solved
the problem.
MagnaFlow needs to learn the difference between tone and drone.

Look up MRT elite on this forum and you’ll see lots of good feedback. I had a Roush muffler and took a long trip and. It was awful. I ripped it off, and installed the mrt elite and it could not be happier.

I have the flow master and I added exhaust wrap and insulated muffler wrap from Amazon and it made a big difference in the drone noise.

I ordered a Vibrant Ultra Quiet 3in Resonator and am waiting for the shop to install it as I gotta Steeda Axleback along with my CVFab Downpipe. Fingers crossed that it works, I'll do exhaust wrap next. Which one did you order @Desifire911 ?

4 cylinder engines mated to 3" exhaust piping is a recipe for drone. It's why I'm probably going to stay stock as drone is the worst.

i went with Corsa single down-turn for my 2.3 ... mostly because there is NO drone

Those of you that have added resonators, how did it change the sound? I don't mean quieter. I mean raspiness, growl, etc. I've got the Flowmaster outlaw outback and wish it had a little more rumble to it and a lot less drone.
