That’s rough, especially those random cracks.Well I had the same issue with windshields on my FJ Cruiser - 3 in 18 years so not as often. So I just carry glass insurance which has paid for each of the windshields.
What I find interesting is that my Bronco has had four windshields, and my wife's has none. She's the tailgator. Mine have broke under weird circumstances. Like on a really cold day. Pull out of the cabin and BAM huge crack down the middle of the windshield. I had another one break driving down the a deserted road with no other traffic around.
The cold one would be the most frustrating… nothing you can really do to avoid it and then all of a sudden you’re dealing with a full crack out of nowhere.
And yeah, it’s not always tailgating either – sometimes it just happens with road conditions, temperature swings, or random debris.
Have you ever looked into anything to help prevent that, or just been dealing with it as it happens?
