We love Broncos but… what’s the most annoying “small issue” with your Bronco?

Well I had the same issue with windshields on my FJ Cruiser - 3 in 18 years so not as often. So I just carry glass insurance which has paid for each of the windshields.

What I find interesting is that my Bronco has had four windshields, and my wife's has none. She's the tailgator. Mine have broke under weird circumstances. Like on a really cold day. Pull out of the cabin and BAM huge crack down the middle of the windshield. I had another one break driving down the a deserted road with no other traffic around.
That’s rough, especially those random cracks.

The cold one would be the most frustrating… nothing you can really do to avoid it and then all of a sudden you’re dealing with a full crack out of nowhere.

And yeah, it’s not always tailgating either – sometimes it just happens with road conditions, temperature swings, or random debris.

Have you ever looked into anything to help prevent that, or just been dealing with it as it happens?

I'm not.

It's not a secret, it's right in the pre-canned routines in Forscan.
My sincere apologies. You are right. I knew the double honk delete was in the Forscan spreadsheet but I guess I didn’t scroll down enough to see the key fob down at the bottom of the page (viewing on my phone)
I’m embarrassed

Most annoying is the double honk if you leave the car running with the key in your pocket. Haven't found a way to disable it, but man is it annoying.
You can disable this in FORScan in the early models.

Cracking noise when window is partially open going over bumps

Why does it take 4 steps to get to music tone setting?

Sticky accelerator pedal - makes modulating difficult although I fixed this

Poor drivers side floor heat

Not talking major problems – just the stuff that slowly gets under your skin over time.

Could be:
  • windshield chips
  • Interior rattles
  • Road noise
  • Something random you didn’t expect
Curious what’s been the most annoying “little thing” for you so far.
Windshield

The 10-speed automatic transmission. I hate this transmission: It is ALWAYS shifting. There are so many scenarios where this thing ticks me off, but the common one is where the guy in front of me at a roundabout hesitates (for no good reason) forcing me to let off the gas for a split second. Then, when I push the pedal back down nothing happens because the transmission is in the middle of downshifting. It creates a potentially dangerous situation where for a second or so, you can't move. I thought I was triggering a crash avoidance system the first few times this happened. Anyway, I don't care what anyone says, this thing has too many gears. It's counter-productive and it tripping over itself. Not to mention, you won't convince me that a transmission that has to shift two or three times as often as say a four speed auto, is going to wear out that much faster. I've always been a manual transmission guy, but I've owned plenty of automatics and none of them have bother me the way this one does.

Honorable mentions:
1) Two speedometers on the dash, and I can't replace the digital one with something more useful.
2) The buttons that control the internal "dome lights" are needlessly overcomplicated and confusing.

3) The usual stuff everyone complains about, mostly water dripping on my head through the roof panel when it rains, and wind noise. Wind noise really doesn't bother me that much, but I hate the dripping.

I still love the Bronco overall, and no regrets about buying it. But if I could change the transmission now, to the manual, I would.

Wireless charger. Has anyone ever actually been able charge their phone wirelessly in a Ford Bronco while driving? It is an absolutely useless feature that works for a a couple seconds at times before stopping.

Yeah the dripping that would get old pretty quick.

Seems like theres a common theme of things being/feeling more complicated than they need to be for no real benefit.

But overall, hard to complain too much. Still a lot to like about them.

If I take the roof panel off and wipe the seal with silicone lubricant, it stops dripping... for a while.

The infernal red button has killed its own purpose. I can't remember the last time I heard a car alarm go off and thought, "Someone's getting mugged, I better go check and get help!" I think, "Someone has accidentally hit the red button, was it me?"
You are not alone. I seem to set off my horn all the time. I bump something, I have my key fob in my pocket with almost any object and bend over, sit down, ... Now, as soon as I hear any horn, I just assume its me and my Bronco.

Most annoying? Hard top seal whistling when driving in cold temperatures.

Not too much to complain about my WildTrak, I love it!

If I have to mention anything, it would be the rattling if the windows are cracked or partially open.

No squeaks or rattles in mine so far after nearly 16 months of ownership. Only two dealership visits were for service. I do have the outstanding recall on the rearview camera, but I haven't experienced any issues.

I have experienced the infotainment screen having a bit of a mind of its own on occasion, but hardly a big deal to me.

As for interior noise, the Bronco replaced a 2012 BMW X5. I fully prepared myself for a different ride and increased interior noise. Having said that, I thought it would have been much worse. My Mustang convertible is louder with the top up. Yeah, I know the Mustang is a soft top vs the Bronco being a hard top, but the Mustang also doesn't have aggressive off-road tires.
