Starlink Mini Mount for 4-Door and Bronco Raptor

Hi all,
I created a mount for the Starlink Mini that uses the rear rollbar threaded holes. It works for both 4-door models as well as Raptors.

Like most ideas, this came out of personal necessity when I was looking to mount my Starlink Mini in my Raptor. I have gone through many iterations and landed on this design after months of changes and testing myself on desert trips.

The mount is made of ASA plastic, which is UV and heat resistant. It uses the Starlink Mini pole mount adapter that is included with every Starlink. There is a threaded brass insert on the top of the mount to attach to the pole mount and stay secure. Works perfect through the MIC hardtop.

Plugs right in to the 12V just a foot or so away. Make sure you get a quality 12V plug for the Starlink.

Nice! What is keeping it from working on a 2 door?

It uses the mounting points on the back of the roll bar for the C-Brace that is on the Raptors.

Signal is not deteriorated by fiberglass or soft tops. Starlink uses Ka and Ku band. Both of these bands go right through anything except metal and prob concrete lol

In our extensive testing mounting your starlink behind a surface like the hardtop actually increases speed and performance over exterior mounts. Exterior mounts like roof mounts or rack mounts are less stable even though you have a “clear view” of the sky. Wind at speed creates what I would call significant signal turbulence and vibration and causes lots of drop outs which I equate to driving speed related with wind. The mount inside blocks wind turbulence and a much more stable connection. Kinda like you don’t see the internet antenna on exterior of an airplane. I think they figured that out a long time ago. Plus theft is a real concern with exterior mounts and trail damage. Plus in my opinion it looks funny having the antenna on the outside


We tested download speeds over 125 mb at 75 mph with a slightly higher ping time at speed over stationary.
If you mount it get it as close as possible to the top.
For power, the cigarette lighter offers 12v however the starlink needs better power long term Using the cigarette lighter as a power source causes your antenna to scream auditory when power drops. Literally hear a scream or whine. The angle of the antenna also won’t have a real impact, so mounting flat is ok

The power drops on fords is common as the cigarette lighter power is dictated / optimized through the BCM and the cigarette power is low priority so when other systems want power it will pull power from the cigarette lighter circuit causing dropouts. You can get a booster but Running full power from aux or battery with the correct wire is best long term.

huge fan of internet on the trail. It doesn’t replace CB/ GMSR radio but helps with everything else and in emergency situations it rocks being able to actually make a real phone call over internet.

I will have out soon a full tech nerd video explaining all this on my YouTube channel showing real results and how to do interior mounts.

Interior mounting has some trade offs but not much.

I don't believe the 2-door has the pre-threaded holes on the rollbar. I checked on a 2023 Wildtrak and it didn't have them.

Right. Yes, using the factory bolts on the Raptor. Ships with bolts and washers for the regular 4-door. I would recommend thread locker on the bolts, and on your Starlink pole mount.

Thank you for this detail! What power configuration would you recommend? I currently use a dash mount but slide the mini up against the back area and the dash suction cups go in the roll bar. If that makes sense. The mini is snug against the roof and does get a bit hot. I’m getting a trailrax roof rack and am worried that will block the signal. Then when I put my tent on top, I’ll need to figure a mount for the mini there too. But right now I’m working on power. I honestly don’t understand when people talk about things like step up converters. I’ve been plugging it into the cigarette lighter in the back and it seems to work fine. Also, I think I need a battery so it doesn’t turn off when I turn the car off. Considering the peakdo. Thanks for your help. It’s much appreciated.

Is there enough room between the Starlink and the top to remove the Starlink without having to remove the entire mount?

Thank you. Mine is a 2025. I’ll take a look but you’re probably right.

Even more importantly the rear vertical of the roll bar on the two door is at a much more vertical angle than the 4 door version. Meaning the angles the mount is attaching to would be completely wrong. (even without the holes you can drill and use riv-nuts).

Yes there is. Once the pole mount is attached to the mount, you can snap the Starlink on and off.
