We love Broncos but… what’s the most annoying “small issue” with your Bronco?

Well I had the same issue with windshields on my FJ Cruiser - 3 in 18 years so not as often. So I just carry glass insurance which has paid for each of the windshields.

What I find interesting is that my Bronco has had four windshields, and my wife's has none. She's the tailgator. Mine have broke under weird circumstances. Like on a really cold day. Pull out of the cabin and BAM huge crack down the middle of the windshield. I had another one break driving down the a deserted road with no other traffic around.

Wind noise and lack of good internal storage compartment's, both of which are very minor in the scheme of things. I am surprised at the number of windshield chip reports. I drove the "green oval" brick, pictured in my Avatar, and never got one chip. (Ford owned Land Rover at the time). Up until I got my Badlands that Defender was the most capable 4x4 I had ever owned. The Bronco made some significant improvements over the Defender.

Most annoying is the double honk if you leave the car running with the key in your pocket. Haven't found a way to disable it, but man is it annoying.
Forscan does it

😂 yep, everyone’s got that one button.
fyi - I installed exoshield and I love that shit. I'm certain I've avoided at least 3 cracked windows in two years. Probably more....

It’s the interior lights for the driver and passenger. I cannot for the life of me find the small button in the dark. Practically unstable. My old Honda accord the entire light housing was a pushable button, so very easy to use. And my girlfriend’s Audi Q3 has a touch sensor, but again it’s on a large light housing.

The interior light buttons are just entirely too small to use and to find in the dark.

My pet peeve is the rattling and road noise. I bought something to cover the inside of the roof with. Will properly affix my speakers and insulate the doors. These are things I can do myself easily.

But I have a dead battery they sold the car with, and a window that's not sealed properly (Driver's back), and those are dealer issues... once I have time.

The windshield issue applies to any and all cars with this windshield angle, so it's definitely not a Bronco specialty.
Sounds like you’ve got a good handle on the DIY side of things .(y) Knocking out the rattles and insulation yourself is the way to go.

And yeah, that windshield angle point comes up a lot across different vehicles. Windshield damage is very common these days especially with any upright windshield.

Have you started tackling the noise yet? Or just living with it at this point?

I am living with it for now. I just received new wheels I had ordered, and next tires, and then a small lift. Priorities!!!

I wish they'd just go back to the thicker windshields that didn't crack when you looked at them wrong. I had three chips in my 2002 GM truck windshield, a couple in my 1994 Z71 windshield, etc., and they never did spider web.

Oh, and I forgot that I can't change the time zone on the clock to the correct time zone. Why bother having an auto update if it's just going to be 3 hours off?
😂 priorities sound about right. Wheels, tires, lift always come first.

And yea, feels like windshield's is a real pain point for a lot of bronco drivers.

Do you think it’s more the glass itself, or just the conditions we’re driving in now?

Wondering if anyone has tried this on the underside of their roof panels -

If you ease out on the clutch with your foot off the throttle, it will automatically pick the RPMs up to keep from stalling the engine.
You are right, I never noticed. It will rev from 800 to 1100 if you slowly release the clutch.

I have 2D so it has manual seats. The annoying thing is that when I use the lever to move the seat to open the back seat and then return the seat to its position, it never fully locks. This frequently results in the seat shifting and locking under my butt while driving which is annoying, jarring, and I think is causing it to slip slightly further away from where I'd like.

Also, the interior lighting is just horrible. I installed some extra lights that are really bright but they are kind of finnicky so I may have to invest in a more solid brand.

I don't like the seatbelt dings either when I unbuckle as a passenger when my wife pulls into the garage. I haven't tried the dog experiment where my dog sits in the passenger seat loose. In my VW it used to go bonkers when she would sit in the front seat. My XTerra just turns on the passenger seatbelt warning light, but makes no sound.
Note: I know it isn't safe to have a loose dog in the car.

Interior plastic is the only thing that truly bothers me. I have OCD, so it’s a little worse. And you get the feeling of being ripped off on money spent.
I will add the CarPlay issues. Along with rock chip issues coming in third.
This. The cheap plastic interior. Even new the whole things moves if you push it with one finger. Panel lines that are not flush. Just cheap stuff.

I don't know what the known CarPlay issues, but for me the day/night sensor is too sensitive, driving under a shadow turns my screen to night mode. I also wish the entire screen real estate would be used.

It was the windows snagging on the weatherstripping. This was an adjustment issue, did the procedure myself to make sure it was done right as Ford dealers didn't know what to do. It took awhile to get used to the wind noise but don't even notice it anymore. I still wouldn't trade it for anything else. I like the design of the dash and controls hard plastic and all. I rented a new Nissan Pathfinder and the thing already had a tear in the soft touch with white fuzz coming out. And I don't need fancy stitching to stoke my ego.
