@RoverDude Sorry to bombard you with questions, but I’m trying to make sure I understand things as much as possible before I try and tackle this project. I have the module, and I’m planning on installing it this weekend. One issue, however, is I won’t have access to a laptop with Forscan until probably next week at the earliest. I know it’s been mentioned that there’s an error that need to be cleared after installing the module, but I’m wondering if it’s a problem to install the module and then handle the programming later. Will the error cause me issues when driving the vehicle? I don’t need to use the trailer wiring immediately, but I also don’t want to have a constant error message popping up while driving (if that’s the case). Thanks again for all your help with this.

What year is your Bronco?
Assuming that it's pre -2025 It will give an insulation error and forscan nothing on the dash.
And more likely than not, what will not be functional will be the auxiliary power/ battery charger output pin.

The lights turn signals. Everything else should be functional

I am NOT an expert but I have a 2024 Badlands Sas…in April of 2025 I installed the hitch and module. I paid for a two days FDRS license to program the hitch and also used FDRS to add a wireless keypad. It was at least a month between the time I installed the hitch and module until the time I actually used FDRS for the programming. I did not noticed any errors during that time. Again I am no expert just personal experience.

This is the video I followed to program FDRS

Thanks to a DM followup from @RoverDude, I now have a TRM with no errors and all trailer menus available and seemingly working.

Do everyone of these menu items actually work? I only have the basic three items show on my screen of a 2024 WT

You can add those/ try to add them with forscan. Trailer Light check is hit or miss depending on vehicles (meaning you can add it to any the vehicle, it may just spit up an error)

Configuration I listed is what is enabled by using FDRS.
You're more than free to add try to add in other options.
Use easy mode, in APIM.

Thanks, I used forscan and have trailer check light. Just curious if his others functions actually work. I have those functions on my expedition and when I use my bike rack which has lighting I switch the trailer selection to none and my blind spots go back to working. I would like that option on my bronco as right now my blind spots will be off when using the bike rack. I know I can turn them back on in forscan but there are occasions that a tow a small trailer which would leave the blind spot lights on all the time

I bought a 2026 badlands and installed the hitch and updated the PC with the parameters as listed. Now my parking sensors have stopped working and the tow screen is not available on Sync so I’m sure I have done something incorrect. Does anyone know which settings would have disabled the parking sensors?

You would need to provide some more information in order for anyone to help troubleshoot your issue.
Some basic information:
Exactly what you did.
Are there any error codes.
Beside the Hitch, what was the model / part number you installed for the tow module?
Would need more information specifically on what you changed (before / after values)
What options your bronco has (engine transmission / ect).

This does not included issues like you removing bumper and not correctly plugin in the connectors.

VP2DZ-15A416-B is the tow kit I installed. I’ll have to open the side panel again to get the module number installed on the fender wall. I’ll do that this afternoon and repost with the number. Only error code I have is now a parking sensors fault that appeared this morning. Sensors worked fine after installing the kit and putting the bumpers back on and prior to making the PC changes in the post.

Also have the 2.7 10 speed. Another interesting data point is that in FORScan I have the TRM as built options in your first post and NOT all the lines listed in your 2025+ section.

Well
VP2DZ-15A416-B is for year prior to 2025
for 2025+ you would need VS2DZ-15A416-C
it's different module, thus the different values

Well dang. Does that mean I have to buy the entire kit again to make it work or can the module be bought separately? Or can the one I bought still work with my 2026?

Also if a newer TRM module is needed do you know the part number needed. Also if a new module is needed would you know what settings need to be reverted to get the parking sensors back working
