In all seriousness, 2 door body on frame convertible SUVs aren’t a big seller in general. Jeep has the same problem. Even the Defender 90 was scaled back, although they correctly got rid of all the lower trims and kept the big motor in it.

for the people thinking the 2dr is ugly, know that I continue to receive comments from people saying the 2dr looks better than the 4dr. I’m not a boomer and not all those comments come from boomers.
Same. It's definitely not a "boomer" thing. I'm probably much younger than most on here and I consistently hear it also.

lol sales has absolutely nothing to do with your perceived view of how the 2 doors look.
Nobody expected big 2 door sales. It's no different then the wrangler.
You assuming the looks of a 2 door has something to with sales is just ignorance.

There are PLENTY of comments throughout this forum showing that a lot of 4 door owners agree the 2 door looks far better, but some people simply needed more room.

Far more people are buying the 2 door for looks, as opposed to the 4 door for looks.
Concur.

The ONLY reason why I have a 4-door is because I have a family and I don't have the money to buy two SUVs. Which means my Bronco has to cosplay as a family SUV during the week.

In my ideal world, I'd have a 2-Door Bronco for myself, and something like an Explorer for the family. But alas... so far I haven't found the money tree yet. (Not that it has prevented me from surfing auto auction yards on a weekly basis for a 2-door Bronco.)

It is all part of the plan, make the 2dr less desirable and then cancel the 2dr production completely. "Nobody was buying it"

I would not buy a new 4 door if it had a sticker price of $20k for a loaded version. Just all out ugly, a bigger flex. Looks like a box turned into a small limo. I really do not see or get the attraction to it other than it’s a huge box and people like their huge boxes. The 2 door; of which I owned three now, is perfect in all ways for me and my wife. We even get backseat riders on occasion, no issue at all unless someone is too lazy to spend 2 seconds getting in. This hasn’t happened. We grocery shop, collect packages and save dogs with the 2 door. When seats are down, tons of room. Plenty. Driving it is also much more fun, is more nimble, much better turn radius and with the 2.7 gobs of power. More is not needed for any task.

All I see are 4 doors and I like that. When people see mine they usually assume it’s a classic, not new. I also traded up for the “clown car” which is the best of the broncos I’ve owned in regards to ride and noise, or lack of. I’ve driven jeeps for 30 years and will never again buy a jeep.

I just fail to see the attraction in the 4 door but I’m 56 and growing up a 4 door Bronco didn’t exist. So I am a tried and true 2 door guy and the Stroppe is actually amazing though only went for it due to the deeeeeep discounts and future resale value which is much better than any badlands. Same with the heritage Limited in that regard.

The 2.7 feels better than the 2.3 as well. Have driven both extensively and prefer the 2.7. Same with jeep. I much prefer the 6 over the 4. It’s no contest for me. Ford sells way more 4 doors because today’s crowd, again, loves oversized huge boxes. Some feel “bigger is better” and for some, it is. It’s still an ugly beast with 4 doors.

so see, we all have varying tastes which is how it always has been and always will be.
"This" 🤣

You are kidding right? The 2 door "is" a Bronco. Only reason I would ever even consider owning one. The only people who own them probably have rug rats and a wife. 🤣
I have a rugrat, a wife, rottweilers and a handful of girlfriends. I need the room.

4 door is ugly compared to a 2 door. Can you say Defender 90? Probably the coolest looking 4x4 ever manufactured. 👍🏼🤣
No...no...no.... the 110 is so much cooler

How am I missing the point? I directly addressed your incorrect statement saying "99% of the public buy vehicles entirely for their looks". That's complete horseshit and everyone knows it lol

Do looks play a big part? Sure. But you can find the best looking vehicle in the world, yet to most, if it doesn't fit what they need they will keep looking and compromise. Do some people make it work even though it isn't what they need? Sure. But once again, thinking this is what most do, is just nonsense.

Also, I never said anyone is purposely buying an ugly vehicle.
They're simply buying the best looking one which also fits their necessities.
In the Bronco's case, that is a vehicle that looks similar to a traditional bronco, but has additional doors and room. AKA the moardoor bronco.
Look are always the deciding factor. Not sure why this is so hard to understand. If you needed a full sized SUV for example, you'd find the one that fit the bill (within your budget, 3rd row, V8 engine, moonroof, towing package, whatever) then you'd buy the one that looked the best (to you). Looks are ALWAYS the deciding factor.

Everyone has their own criteria in selecting such an impactful and emotional purchase. This thread caused me to go back to a spreadsheet we made to help select my wife’s new car recently. It rated six models based on price, MPG, fuel requirements, ground clearance, cargo volume, IIHS&NHTSA ratings, JDP&Consumer Reports ratings, full size spare, pano roof, and ventilated seats. Never considered looks.

Hmm, we can just agree to disagree then because this (and many other similar comments I've seen) proves my whole point from the start:

Getting back to the original post, I too an confused by Ford management's decisions to remove available options from various models. After all these are paid options. The two door buyer pays for the V6 they want/need and every option makes Ford a little more cash. Win, Win. The buyer is happy and glad they did not need to settle. If they want to replace their Bronco they can as originally specked maybe with more options not less.

There are three features I reluctantly compromised on because they were dropped from my original spec. I regret not having at least one of them. Several other features have been drooped since. I cannot, will not replace this Bronco with those missing. Hopefully some suits get fired before my replacement is needed. P.S. I love the V6 although my OBX is a four door so not the same argument.

I could be wrong but I think in this case, it's about simplifying the manufacturing process. The 2 doors aren't selling so Ford is phasing them out.
The first few years they sold 25-30% 2 doors. Now they're about 15%. I eventually becomes not worth it to offer a million options to keep the lines moving and then eventually they phase it out entirely
