I’ve had a creaking noise from the front driver’s side for about 6 months, and it has been steadily getting worse.

I’ve already tried:
  • washing and cleaning the area
  • WD-40
  • silicone spray
I took it to the dealership, and they said everything looks fine, but the creaking is still pretty bad.

It’s loud enough that I can’t pinpoint exactly where it’s coming from. Right now, I’m wondering if it could be the front most body mount or possibly the sway bar. I am leaning towards the body mount.

Has anyone dealt with this before?

Have you tried to put it up on a jack and move stuff around?

I might be wrong but could it be possible your inner fender might be rubbing on your upper control arm? If it’s not that check out your boot on the shock where it’s close to your inner fender and see if it’s ok there.

I had some bad creaks going on, sounded just like that. it was ok dry but a tiny bit of moisture it was crazy noisy.
I bought Blaster silicone lube and sprayed everything that has a bushing, front and rear and control arms. It got quieter immediately but still a little creaking that went away after a few more days. I guess it had a chance to soak/spread around.

I assume the dealer gave it a good inspection and no actual bushing are bad so give the lube a try.

I might get flamed for this one, but it worked for me on a now 12-year old VW that had a horrible creaking / crunching noise in the front suspension. Learned about it from the Scotty Kilmar Youtube videos.

This stuff, in a spray bottle and spray down all the bushings and mounts once a year. I also sprayed some into a microfiber rag and rubbed down the hardtop seals this past fall when I put it on for the winter, not a peep from it so far, quiet as a church mouse.

"AT-205 Re-Seal". It reconditions the rubber seals, a "stop leak" usage. Again, may be bogus, but I know when I had the VW on a rack, the shop let me spray it down and has been all good since last August. Really hit the shock tower and top mounts with it too.

Do you wheel it? If so, it is probably a bushing.

Did you check the front diff mount?
I thought I read a thread today of someone with a creaking issue turned out to be a broken mount on the front diff.
And I think they re-engineered them in the newer MY's

Have a pic of where exactly?

Update. It's metal on metal contact on the front most body mount. I have an appointment at the body shop on Monday. Fingers crossed!

Thank you, Everyone!

Hey Guys, I was able to fix the issue. It was the front most body mount. I just sprayed some WD-40 Silicone into the top through the engine bay and bottom via the wheel arch. It went away after a few days as the WD-40 penetrated.

If the body mount is making noise just on one side, I would guess the bolt may be a little loose. I would highly suggest retightening the bolts to factory torque specs.

The dealership said the bolt was torqued correctly. I took it to another dealer and they said the same thing!
