Glad to see this brought up for discussion. Is it not a byproduct of the relatively flat front end that lead to headlights with zero side reflectors? I'd love to see pictures if the HID/projector aftermarket light setups actually cast more light to the side. (Or if it is placebo for spending $1k+ on headlights)

I know you aren't necessarily wanting ditch lights, but when properly done, it's the best solution. I have the BluMak3D's with the Baja Designs LED's, and they are fantastic. They are low profile, no glare off the hood, perfectly angled, and you can fine-tune the vertical. You should give these serious consideration.

@DALOLA, do you think those BluMak3D mounts are rigid enough to mount another mount on top of it? Did you do Sport or Pro lights? I like the look of those.

I’m glad to see this post - I have been trying to solve this as well! I also ordered the Bluemak3d ditch light mounts. I already have BD LP4’s on the KR Offroad mounts that I’ll continue to use. I’m out of aux switches so I ordered the 6 LED aux switch panel from F150leds. I plan to wire each side to its own button because I want independent control for the left and right S2 Pro’s.

These side lights are the only gap in my lighting I had left to solve. Looking forward to when the Bluemak3d mounts arrive.

Yeah, you could put something on top if you wanted to, they are very strong. I got the Sport lights, which are still crazy bright. They work extremely well, very happy with them. I wired them to AUX6, very easy to reach up & flip them on whenever needed. I also live in a remote area that gets extremely dark at night, lots of hills & curves, and heavily wooded, so they are super handy. 🤠

I think you'll be happy, I find the angle to be perfect, and I adjusted my vertical just a few degrees down from level. Such a huge difference in dark, remote areas.

We designed them with a structure inside that will accommodate another accessory on top.

You might owe @DALOLA a sales commission. Thanks for the feed back from all. It's very appreciated.

Hahahaha....thanks! Bryan was already kind enough to give me a discount, so no complaints. Besides, I like to promote quality made in America products. There is so much garbage out there, it's always appealing to find the good stuff. 🤠

Ditch lights were my inexpensive (<$100) solution, despite having to manually flick the switch when needed. These have a dual DRL and white spot function. Flood ditch lights with a wider beam spread might be better for your desired application, but even these relatively small 2" Rough Country spots do the job nicely for dark corners. And the amber DRL just looks nice the rest of the time, day or night.

Maybe not a popular opinion because it seems everyone here likes at least the 4led square driving lights but…..

Auxbeam has the little 2led lights on sale for 109 right now on Amazon. I decided to gamble on a set of these recently after hearing about DD lights powder coating flaking off in the salt belt of the Midwest and mixed feedback from it being covered. Some say they have been successful with a claim others not so much. In either case I figured it’s Amazon it’s a super easy return if I don’t like them. I literally just got done setting them up to see how the light output was and it was a dramatic difference compared to just my headlights/brights. Apologies because I couldn’t take it outside to test it. The wire length it comes with is not long enough to properly run the wires under the hood so I need to lengthen it a bit but here’s some pics of them on inside my garage. Obviously these are not as nice as DD or mirimoto or Baja lights but for the price I don’t care if they get wrecked and won’t be used much other than out in the boondocks to watch for deer at night. At some point I’ll be looking to add a nicer brand that’s road legal for fog lights to handle the snow we never seem to get in Minnesota anymore.

one is headlights only (darker than it looks my iPhone 17pro even with night mode turned off takes really good pictures with limited light)

2nd is ditch lights only
3rd is just with the amber light of the ditch lights on.

hopefully that’s helpful

Excuse the mess on my workbench 😂

The OEM fog light alignment on my HE casts a wider (and lower ) pattern than the headlights. I find them useful for spotting deer in the trees at closer ranges and making tight turns in the dark on our unlit gravel road.

You might also consider turning DOWN the brightness level on your dashboard at night, as the screen and cluster tend to reflect off the inside of the passenger window for me. The dimmer buttons are right by the headlight switch.
