I am so sorry for the tragic loss of your son. There truly are no magical words or platitudes to lessen that particular pain, so I won’t even try. I will tell you that you can survive this loss, and you are not alone.
It will be 3 years this coming October that I lost my Son Brent. I would love to tell you that it gets easier, but that isn’t exactly true.
I don’t even want it to be true. I want to feel it all and keep him alive in my memories and heart, and that type of self-therapy comes at a price. Even though it’s painful beyond comprehension, try to allow yourself to revisit your special moments with Alexander as often as you can tolerate it. Alexander was special and you keep his memory alive by remembering him. Revisiting special moments, crying for future moments he will miss, and by telling his story will keep him alive and relevant in your life. Try not to push the pain down so far that you lose him.
Time will teach you to become better at dealing with your grief and controlling your emotions, but the loss is so devastating and complete that no amount of time will restore what you have lost.
If you are a man of faith, then perhaps that will help. My faith wasn’t strong enough to survive the worst thing that can happen to a parent, although I wish it had of been.
Rely on your family, friends and Alexander’s memory for strength. He is still with you and will be forever.
Thank you for that info Kerry. It hasn`t been 3 weeks yet so we have know idea how to forge ahead through the darkness that we are in now. It is so different now in our house with just the 2 of us (and a cat),and no stinky boy--damn his feet got ripe at times.
He is the best thing that ever happened to us and now the worst. I hope to carry on............

Well things are --what they are, I was going to say better but that isn`t really true. We miss Alexander so much.
I had ordered a RR 2DR Heritage on June 5th and it showed up Sept 5th--A month after Alexander passed. In memory of him we named it Noodle , as that was our nickname for Alexander . You can find the Instagram at @24henoodle72rip . I'll try to update it with our adventures to show Alexander out enjoying things with us still.

Well my boy has been gone 6 months now. In some ways it's easier and yet in others it is so much harder.
I miss him more than words can convey.

Brian; I can't even think to fathom how to deal with the loss of a child...you're in our thoughts as you continue through this journey of healing. There's always comfort with these wonderful memories and knowing they're always in our hearts and minds. God bless!!

I joined this site quite recently, so 'missed' this when it originally was posted.

I cannot even imagine the pain you went and are going through. Just know that while we have never met, I wish nothing but love for you, your family and the memory of Alexander.
