I`ll go with the most recent--Saturday the 3rd we dropped him off at his buddies house, they were going to be away for a week in MT at buddies cabin. They stop in Spokane for lunch. Buddies dad commented that Alexander was looking him in the eye and having a conversation, Alexander then calls out his buddy for having his nose in his phone. Then they stop in Post Falls for fuel and Alexander then goes and strikes up a convo with a person in a Heritage just like ours and asks them if they take it out and get it dirty like we do. Buddies dad (and most adults) was impressed with Alexander for being able to do that all on his own.
He sounded precocious, curious and well grounded.
Thank you for sharing that with us.

I used to live in Seeley Lake and still know half the town, so I heard about this tragic accident when it happened. I had no idea it would turn out to be a fellow forum member’s child. My sincere condolences to your family.

i am very sorry to hear about your son Alexander. it is said that is the most traumatic event a person can experience: the loss of a son or daughter. i totally understand that. some say there is a second life where you will see Alexander again.

This is heart wrenching and I feel for what you and your family are going through right now. I’m so sorry. Are there any particular stories of him you’d like to share so we can all remember him?
The first time I let him drive on a forest service road... last November, age 14. More recently he was my consistent helper in getting the tops on and off, and in rearranging vehicles in the driveway.

We have lost our beautiful 15yr old son Alexander.

On Monday, August 5, Alexander died in a swimming accident. He was away in Montana with a friend from school for his first big adventure independent from us, and was having an amazing time. For that we are so grateful.

Maria and I have just returned from Montana. We do not have any details about when we can organize a service, but will share them. For now, we are simply heartbroken and just trying to get from one minute to the next.

Alexander, we love you, we are so proud of who you have become. We miss you immensely and would give anything to have you back with us. You had so many adventures ahead of you, and we were looking forward to seeing you through them. We love you, our beautiful boy. We will always ALWAYS love you.

I have been reeling since we got the news. I know only a couple of you had met him but you all would have loved him. We were on the cusp of so many new things coming his way--Driving,High School, part time work etc etc. We were looking forward to many more adventures with the Mustangs and Bronco,Concerts and shows.

This hit me hard. I can only offer prayers for peace for your family. And my deepest sympathy.

I am so sorry for the tragic loss of your son. There truly are no magical words or platitudes to lessen that particular pain, so I won’t even try. I will tell you that you can survive this loss, and you are not alone.
It will be 3 years this coming October that I lost my Son Brent. I would love to tell you that it gets easier, but that isn’t exactly true.
I don’t even want it to be true. I want to feel it all and keep him alive in my memories and heart, and that type of self-therapy comes at a price. Even though it’s painful beyond comprehension, try to allow yourself to revisit your special moments with Alexander as often as you can tolerate it. Alexander was special and you keep his memory alive by remembering him. Revisiting special moments, crying for future moments he will miss, and by telling his story will keep him alive and relevant in your life. Try not to push the pain down so far that you lose him.
Time will teach you to become better at dealing with your grief and controlling your emotions, but the loss is so devastating and complete that no amount of time will restore what you have lost.
If you are a man of faith, then perhaps that will help. My faith wasn’t strong enough to survive the worst thing that can happen to a parent, although I wish it had of been.
Rely on your family, friends and Alexander’s memory for strength. He is still with you and will be forever.
