Now that Curt has an adapter for their tow bar on the modular bumper recovery points, feel much better about using the Roadmaster adapters.

Blue Ox tow bar setup. Opened the BX88357 adapters up to 1.18" which gives a good 1/32" clearness on each side. I have new up arrow decals coming, got messed in the mill clamp

Did you go with the Ascent tow bar?
Do I understand correctly, you must also buy the base plates?

I have a modular bumper. I already have a tow dolly with brakes so I’m thinking about just using it. Trying to decide if changing over is worth it.
TIA

I have the Sterling All-Terrain tow bar. The part number for the adapter is 035-1 https://www.etrailer.com/Base_Plates/Roadmaster/RM-035-1.html . I purchased at etrailer.com along with the universal diode wiring kit (https://www.etrailer.com/Tow_Bar_Wiring/Roadmaster/RM-15267.html) and the coiled safety cables (https://www.etrailer.com/Safety_Cables/Roadmaster/RM-653.html).

I am going to wire it up this weekend and give it a test spin.

grayshadow, I upgraded to a Avail Tow Bar. With the Modular bumper you do not need to buy a base plate but you have the buy the BX88357 adapters and have them opened up a bit to fit onto the shackle brackets. Best price on Amazon was $271.12. You will also need some kind of braking system.
Now the kicker Ford states " AWD/4WD vehicles cannot be towed with 2 wheels lifted off the ground " from the 2021 ford Towing Guide. This includes the Bronco.

Correct. You can't tow on a dolly but you can tow 4 down.

pstroke, O, yes forgot about the OEM Roadmaster adapters having a wider opening and will fit the shackles brackets without milling.

pstroke, be sure and look at the two pdf files in my post. The scariest part is removing the trim pieces below the tail lights.

I already have them printed off. I wired my 2019 Ranger with the same kit so that part does not scare me. Destroying body panels on my brand new Bronco does. ;)

This will be my first time flat towing with my motorhome and haven’t purchased anything yet. Seems like a lot of you guys have an existing setup that you are modifying, but I’m wondering if you were starting from scratch like me what brand/model would you go with? I have a 2 door Black Diamond with the modular bumper and my motorhome is a 98 Four Winds Hurricane. Thanks!
