Knowing what you know now would you opt for the soft top and get a hard top for say 3k when a decent one becomes available or live with the 2.0 until it replaced with something better in a couple years? I ordered the MIC and will live with it until it starts to fail and then put a best top on until a version that finally works is out and try to warranty swap then.

I wouldn’t go back and get the soft top. I think the soft top just flatly looks bad and makes the entire car look different (and for the worse).
I also had a July build so I wouldn’t have been able to get the hardtop hookups if I had gone softie.

but no, I wouldn’t have ordered a softie.

ironically, I did the opposite. I originally had a soft top order. I added the hardtop, even during the news that Ford was saying the hardtops were being delayed, because I saw a photo on this sit of a soft top at the plant… I showed it to my wife and she goes ‘absolutely not. I don’t care how long it’s delayed.’ Hahah

If someone repainted a fender and it didn't match you would be OK with it?
I'll let you know in 2 weeks when my Dirt Mountain escapee arrives. It's nearly 100% likely that I won't be ok with it, if it doesn't match when it arrives. I am sure that someone will try to explain to me that it's normal and that's why I have been waiting over 3 months for delivery.

hah yeah I mean I’m glad I have it. But this top is absolute piece of shit. People can sugar coat it all they want. It’s poorly designed, poorly finished and is going to give all owners problems until Ford figures out a more permanent solution.

I wouldn’t be thrilled if my top looked this way after 1 year…. It’s been 6 days and hasn’t been through an Az summer.
And that's why I already ordered a Bestop Trektop for my Bronco, because I am fairly certain that the hardtop will be a pile of shite.

Seems like CNET needs to update their glowing review. No mention at all of the MIC clusterfuck.

Well mine showed up yesterday, before the Bronco, naturally!

The seals for step one are with the windows, it does not tell you on the instructions that come with it.

What a disaster. Reading back through this thread and seeing the fanboys coming up with whatever excuse they can make up- it’s just cosmetic, at least you have a bronco, this is how removable hard tops are, it’s just a couple of tops of a thousand, etc, etc. Then seeing more and more pics of delivered Broncos with shit tops- creaking, rattling, 2-3 different shades of color, delamination, seam separation, etc. For a vehicle of this hype and price, this is just a total failure on Fords part. How can you get so much right with this thing and screw up the top so badly? Jeep has been doing this for years and years. So glad I ordered with a soft top- it’s not perfect, but it’ll be better than the disaster of a hard top. Come on Ford, get it together!

I owned a few jeeps and each top leaked at some point or another. Nothing is perfect these days.

Very true. I’m sure Jeep has their issues (mine has not-yet anyway), but nothing like this.

(Ford is aware and in communication, so we don't need to keep pinging them)

Updated photo from this AM. My hands aren't Samsquatch in real life, that's just the zoom level. You can see the fuzzy look on the edge, and that wasn't there when I picked it up 5 days ago. You REALLY have to be looking for it though.

Bad news, folks. This is a MIC 2.0 top built 10/1, delivered 4 days ago.

Top looked excellent at pickup. Did not notice any issues.. 4 days later, I notice I can see the old issue returning. Have not notified Ford yet.

Check your MIC tops CLOSELY on the rearmost panel by the windows. Appears to be pulling apart a bit.

I'll have a lot more photos and any other misc info coming shortly.

There is also slight honeycombing.

Edited for brevity.

Wow. This is supposed to be the mic 2.0? I’ll definitely be giving mine the white glove inspection 🧐

Has anyone seen this? It's not water to my knowledge because it looks and feels slick. We also haven't had any rain lately in my area.

I haven't removed the roof just yet to further inspect, only noticed this when rearranging the rear seats.

Yes, noticed it when we took delivery, we were concerned it was leaking, but it definitely feels oily. I thought it was mfg residue, but I still see it appear at times.
