Buying hardtop after delivery

Guys, what’s the odds of getting a factory hardtop after taking delivery of my Outer Banks? Knew the hard top would delay the build, ordered without. Still would like one for the wife.

Besides having to wait till 2023 as Ford stated, probably $3,000, other than that, it should be no problem

Why 3 grand? It’s literally a $1000 option on a build out. Also, why 2 additional years? If Ford’s suppliers can’t build inventory to meet the demand, they picked the wrong supplier.

Easy Tiger, no need to get your panties in a knot. We’re all in this shit show together, some longer than others. Yes, they picked the wrong supplier. Supposedly supplier is “expanding for 2022”, a little late IMO.

I simply asked if I would be able to purchase a factory hardtop eventually.

It'll be expensive because the cost of packing and freight shipping that thing to your dealer will be expensive vs just bolting it on at the factory. We don't know how expensive yet but it won't be the same as the build and price tool shows today

Who knows exactly when they will become available, the issue is they have a large amount of reserved Broncos still to build with a large majority of them having the Hard Top. So Ford is likely going to build Broncos and ship them with hard tops before pushing them to consumers that want them as an accessory, just my opinion. I have a feeling that there are going to be aftermarket hard tops popping up likely around SEMA where a bunch of these companies will likely push there options on builds custom made for the show. Anyway just hold tight and see what is to come.

I believe it’s a 695$ option. Just because it’s 695 doesn’t mean that’s the price. That’s the difference added on top of the soft top price. So if the standard soft top price would be 1500 total price for mic would be 2295. I’ve heard rumors mic hardtop will be around 2k to buy after the fact when they become available but then you’ll have to add shipping on top of that. I believe they will be available later this year or early 2023. Just depends if they can keep up with the demand from the plant for new builds

If I had bought a four door with short top with the idea of acquiring a hard top at a later date, I would spring for the modular top instead of the MIC top once they become available.

It is not a $1k top...that is $1k ADD, on top of what the soft top costs. Manage your expectations based on what an aftermarket Jeep top costs...easy to search the web for that. Shipping will be on top of the prices that you see.

The 2 additional years is because that is what Ford has already said. 2023 is when you can expect factory hard tops being available for purchase. Based on everything else, it would be no earlier than that.
