Hey guys. So tomorrow I begin my wiring job on a 2021 base four-door Bronco Sasquatch. I bought the Ford wiring harness which looks just plain scary in the box. As I look at some of the posts, I think it might help someone down the road to walk through all the mistakes I’m about to make. I’m more than willing to hear from those who have already been down this road to advise me a bit. It seems the best approach is to access the panel in the back driver’s side to start. Thoughts?

Very interested to see a nice step by step on this job. Photo of Ford harness would be good starting point.

Awesome, I'll be down this road myself next year unless the 22' Base has the ability to order from factory. Thanks for taking the time to post the process.

Did Ford provide any instructions w/ the harness? Curious if there is a suggested routing or if you are on your own.

There’s a sticker on the box for dealers to look up for instructions. I tried to access it, but no joy for us civilians.

I have done it and it's been documented in other posts. I know the search function is lacking here. I think Flip (sponsor and contributor) has a partial harness that helps eliminate a few steps and simplifies the install. I tried out his prototype. I think this has most of the details. The biggest PIOTA is getting the panels and light out.

Watch out, the rear harness has some weird changes to the harness and wire colors, so I had to do some probing to find the tail light signal.

At least you're doing it right. There are still some folk who think you can just plug into your taillights with a $15 Wally world set. Nope.

The 4-pin harness I got is the standard one that Ford uses for just about everything ( FT1Z-15A416-A ). Mine came with printed instructions, and it looks to be pretty easy to install overall. The hardest part is routing a power wire, but it apparently already has a place to clip the block on and route the wires otherwise where it taps into the existing harness and how it mounts.

I'm thinking you will be thinking the Big Bend with the trailer package would have been a very good deal.

The box instructions are worthless as they refer to a website for dealer mechanics only and I can’t access it. As the old adage goes, it’s not what you know but who you know. A fine forum member sent me those instructions.
