How do you know the OP has 4.46 gears?

The 4.46's will be adequate to spin 35's for road driving. The sasquatch comes with 4.7, but so does a manual BL, so optimum gear for a manual on 35's might be 4.88ish. Re-gears are pretty expensive and it's something that can be done at a later time if you don't want to do it immediately, just know that you'll lose acceleration.

If you don't re-gear when you upgrade, make sure you go to your dealership and have them adjust your computer settings or your speedometer will show low. Not good in school zones... ask me how I know

It's a non-sas BD. I'll admit I had to look up what gears the BD came with before I made my response but the BD comes with either 4.46 for non-sas or 4.7 for sas. Haven't seen any other options on it.

Most likely, the parents have money and bought it for the 18 year old. Just drive through any college campus town on a Sunday.
Some kids, yes. These kids I saw on Facebook were 18-20 year olds that explicitly said they pay $7-800 a month for their cars. America is the land of “deserving” so everyone thinks they can have everything

very nice!!
so….have you decided? Resell this Bronco later?
What’s the plan for your original reservation? Had you switched it to a soft top already?

Now that I'm in my 30's with amazing credit and some extra income not going to debt, I'm glad that when I wanted that Mustang GT at 18 no bank would touch me and my dad told me I was an idiot for asking him to co-sign. I was pissed then. I'm very grateful now.

Yep!! You have a smart dad who taught you the value of money. Something kids these days don’t understand. I’m 36 and went through the same thing. I got a scion with a co-signer when i was 23 and it was only like 10-12K used. I bought my 1st car with my own credit, it was a Toyota Corolla, I was 28, it was like 16K? My first 30K car didn’t come until my 30’s and these kids are buying 40-50K cars in their teens and early 20’s making $11 an hour.

Looking at gear ratios from the base model with a manual one would want the 5.13 option to run 35” tires. I’d guess that the Black Diamond with the 265/70R17 tires is slightly undergeared at 4.46, but that ratio would call for 4.88 on 35’s. I’m curious to see what Ford puts in the Mansquatch, they have 4.88, 5.13, and 5.38 gear ratios in the catalog.

I tend to forget my former life quite often. Can't tell you how many people came into my dealership wanting a 45k explorer for $300/mo. No concept of how much things cost or what msrp equals what payment. They just think "I need a 3rd row so I must be able to afford it. Oh and while I'm at it it should be a 4wd limited 302a"
So many people are conditioned by the advertising for cheap leases. My 2021 Tacoma TRD Offroad stickered for $42K, with $4K down my 39 month/39K lease is $275 per month with tax. If the residual value is high enough the low lease payment is possible. The payment to buy with no down would’ve been $750 per month.

Yep!! You have a smart dad who taught you the value of money. Something kids these days don’t understand. I’m 36 and went through the same thing. I made some of these mistakes in my 20’s that took most of my 30’s to dig out of. I was working hard, but for minimal money. In 2001 my old man leased me a new F-150 for my last year of college with the plan being I could take over the lease when I started working. It was $234 per month, but started me down the wrong path. Before I knew it I was $100k+ in debt and the wife was taking on debt for law school. I paid back every cent, but it took me until I was 35 to do it. Now at 45 I’m very debt averse beyond a 15 year mortgage and am putting away significant portion of my income for retirement. I could write a check for my Bronco order, but I’ll probably finance a portion as we are saving for the next house down payment.

Is it just me or does it look like that Bronco has no soul. There is an empty, dark look in the headlights that to me seems it knew it was just going to be passed around for the beginning of its life.
Reminded me of Jaws.

From my own personal observations, I'm convinced that they put the 4.7's in the manual BL for the sole purpose of advertising "Jeep killer" numbers. I drove a manual BL and that thing is geared LOW. I'll be putting 35's on my manual BL and have no plans of re-gearing it because I honestly don't think it will need it, even for the moderate to difficult trails I plan on hitting. I might be wrong, but I tested out the crawl gear in 4L, I gave zero throttle, popped the clutch and that thing had no issues with getting going, even smacked my head on the headrest. I definitely think the 4.46 will be adequate for the OP's planned usage.

I haven’t driven a Bronco yet, much less a manual. I’m not concerned about not getting going in crawler gear and 4L, I’m concerned about losing the ability to use 7th gear on the highway. If the big tires effectively reduce the gear ratio it’s possible that you couldn’t use the top overdrive without lugging the engine.

Maybe Ford geared them lower than normal knowing people would upsize the tires and they still wanted them to perform acceptably. Never mind, @Ford Motor Company wouldn’t look out for the consumer like that.

If 285/70R17 tires on a base manual with 4.46 don’t need to be regeared that would be great. I’ll be skeptical until there are more units in the field. I have a hard time believing that 315/70R17 will be ok with 4.46 gearing.

🤣 One too many differential overland reviews...
I would have no clue what you are referencing if not for the video posted the other day. Only one of their channel I have ever watched.

Lol... I'm waiting for a dealership to open so I can check on a unicorn 3hrs away. I seriously doubt it's available, let alone near MSRP... But I gotta check. It's a 2dr Wildtrack. Shadow black, high package, tow... If it's available and nearish mrsp I'm driving out and buying it today....
