Vegas Off-Rodeo - Who's Going

I will be going Sept 19.

I'll be in my motorhome towing my enclosed trailer with my rock buggy, on my way to Sand Hollow UT. I have a call in to them and they are checking if there is room to park my rig there. If I can't drive there in my motorhome, I'll have to figure out what the heck I'll do to get there. Looking at staying in an RV park in Pahrump the night before, I'll be coming from CA.

Well shoot. I guess I’ll pray that Uber will work and beg the hotel if it doesn’t. I’m flying in and not renting a car. Kind of let down that I’ve spent the time and money to get to vegas and still have no idea how I’m going to get to the event and back from their recommended resort.

Wow! I just got back home from my trip to Vegas for the Nevada Off-Roadeo. It was amazing!

So you definitely do have to have your own transportation to get to it. I ended up renting a wrangler off of the Turo app for $89 a day. Then of course they tack on the taxes and fees so all said it was like $150. There are two different ways you can go to get there; one through the edge of town and one through the rocky hills. I would recommend the latter for the views, especially on your way back from the event. I was amazed at the sunset through the red rock canyon on the drive back.

As for the Broncos and the trails I really can't explain how awesome both were. They had mostly Badlands, a couple Wildtracks, and one Outerbanks, all with sasquatch packages. The Outerbanks was the only on that had the bigger screen and the front camera so that was kind of a bummer.

There are three people that were our guides for the day, Warren, Joe, and Joi. They were all incredible. They really knew what they were doing and were great teachers. I think that everyone heard the rumor that the Nevada course was the most technical and I can honestly say that I cannot imagine a more technical course for "novice" drivers. Of course it was in the desert so no mud, slabs, or water. It was a mix of washouts, boulders, tiny ravines. I do believe that this course pushed these stock broncos to the limits without damaging them.

The layout of the basecamp was kind of spread out because it was built around an old boyscout camp. They modified some of the existing building and built some new structures. It all looked great.

I have another bronco on order so I can go to another event and after this trip I am definite going to take advantage of that and visit one of the other locations. When I bought my Raptor I missed the Raptor Assault. Do not miss the chance to do this. You will not regret it.

Just wanted to drop a line and see if anyone was going to the Nevada Off-Rodeo this week. I am flying in the 16th and participating in the Off-Rodeo on the 17th. Excited to see the trails they put together. Not excited about the 106 degree temps.

I’m going 8/23. Not worried about temps much since I live in Phoenix. Looking forward to the experience. Also hoping there are some two doors to drive since that is what I have ordered and holding out for.

You should be fine. About the last mile and half are dirt with some rocks but there were a couple cars that drove there without a problem.

Just checking, there are dirt roads and DIRT ROADS. Some upgraded dirt roads up to boy scout camps at least need a fair bit of ground clearance.
