Has anyone had an issue with the hood not closing all the way? I’ve opened it a couple times and have had severe issues getting the hood to latch into the mechanism. Even if I push the hood down, it still doesn’t latch securely. 2.3 Outerbanks Soft top. TIA!

Engines so powerful that the hood refuses to go down is another way to look at it.
Also no, you’re the first person I’ve seen on here bring this up.

Same issue with Ranger. They use a very strong latch spring so you have to bring the hood down with some muscle from about 1/4 way up until it hits hard enough to close fully.

We've not had a single instance of being able to rest the hood against the latch then "bump" it down and get a solid lock.

Haven't had any issues with it, even though it has to be slammed.

I never "push" a hood down.... just let 'er drop from a decent height.

Is it getting latched at the first stage, but not all the way down?
correct! I can drop it from about 6” and it’ll catch the first stage but not the second. I can’t pull it up without sliding the release.

You have to drop it pretty high, then sometimes the hood warning still comes on after it’s closed.
Start by checking what you worked on last, Did you leave a wrench or something in the way? lots of time people over look what they work on last as the current issue. I'm not picking on anyone, just saying this happens a lot.

Drop it from at least a foot or more. Lighter aluminum hoods need some inertia. Pushing it down is a good way to dent it...

Don't adjust the bump stops unless it isn't lined up right when closed.
