I have an order in with my small-town dealership and have a printed-out "Preview Order" sheet from them that has my name, their name, and line-item MSRP pricing. But it's not signed, and now that has me worried. Also, would 'Destination and Delivery' of $1495 be the same as what I heard folks in this thread call ADM? If not, what's an acceptable ADM fee? I certainly wouldn't want an extra surprise there. Thanks

So everyone I mean everyone. Go tweet at Jim Farley and mike Levine and Ford. The more pub it gets, the more they have to answer.

Also, EVERYONE go leave a negative google review for that dealer. Hurt them where it counts most, reputation.

My biggest issue when hearing about it was that the person is a young woman in her mid to late 20s.
Need to let the local media outlets know there is going to be a protest against a "sexist" dealership that wronged a person because they were a woman.😲 That ought to get some attention.

Can’t wait for the death of the dealership model. I know there are a few good dealers out there, and I know it’s their livelihood and careers, but the bad dealers FAR outweigh the good ones.

Yeah the guy who got screwed should have confirmed price in a written document, but only a very small percentage of car buyers are even aware of ADM. And for someone who isn’t into cars or hasn’t purchased a really hot vehicle brand new or done a ton of research here would have no reasonable expectation that the dealership would be charging 150% of MSRP. Shitty behavior. I think in 50 years dealerships become just service centers/new vehicle storage and delivery hubs. Everything will be purchased direct from the manufacturer.
In reality, dealerships make very little money on the average new car. They want to be manufacturer dealerships for the profits reaped from service and warranty work. Dealerships make their real money on used car sales. Whenever a model comes along that a buying public is clamoring for, some dealers use the ADM to their advantage. Why? Because there is always someone who has more money, or at least believes they have more money then they do brains. Back in 2005 when Ford started selling Shelby Mustangs again, I wanted one. When dealers marked them up, I decided not to buy. I will do the same with a Bronco if they try this with me. The dealership I am involved with has a policy of not selling over sticker. So when , or better yet, IF Ford ever gets their shit together and can actually build my Bronco, I will see if this policy remains.

Question for anyone with first-hand knowledge/experience:

If a dealer said they would charge MSRP in an email prior to your order being placed, is that enough to hold them to it when you pick up your vehicle?

Same boat. Would a copy of this suffice? I was told verbally and by several sales members that they will only be charging MSRP (I'm sure there will be tax, tag, licensing, etc). Is there another document I should get that is binding?

My dealer did a full PA w.o the vin. They sell all their shelbys at sticker and don’t play games. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a lot more of this with the current state of the dealers lots. I’m not defending them but they need to keep their lights on and employees paid.

Came across this post on a 6th Gen FB page. Hope everyone got a signed purchase agreement when they ordered their bronco.

I don’t understand how they were able to do this. I thought when you placed an order it was your car until you declined it. We haven’t ordered one but I read the info on Ford.com and assumed because you had to secure financing that you had a purchase agreement. Would definitely contact Ford though.

Well we can start with a lack of integrity. But I think what they did was they told the girl that it now had a 20K ADM effectively making her walk away so they could sell to the highest bidder.

One of the big if’s is add on’s or lack there of? If you don’t want any surprises everything has to be in writing get the bottom line.
