But you also have people who feel overly entitled.

Just as an example for reservation holders:

Premierdrum and I ordered nearly at identical times and have almost identical builds (I got the V6 and some additional options vs his build)

We both have reservations with in the first hour or so if it going live.

His build date never changed, but mine bounced around five times due to my options, but after everything was said and done, I was only a week late vs my first estimated build date.

His was delivered, meanwhile mine is bouncing around some place with the latest update putting it back into Ford's hands again on the 13th.

IMO this just shows the sheer volume of reservations Ford received within the first few hours. Then add in further delays for commodities issues and that is pushing back peoples build dates.

Bronco production isn't even up to full speed yet and I'm willing to bet that Ford has less than 5000 units built so far. They only sold 800 of them in the last week or two of June.

Ford has something like 150k+ reservations.
I don’t have an issue with what’s being built when, and I can understand the complexity of the project.
But, when I login to see my reservation there are no details- it even has the reserved trim not the ordered one. I have no visibility where I’m at in the process.
When I call THEIR marketing line, they can’t see my order or give me any info.
The communication is shambolic, and can’t just be explained by Covid or a big project.

it’s poorly run, and a reflection on Ford. They need to hear that.

As someone who is frequently verbally abused for systemic problems outside of my control, let us also remember that whomever is behind the screen name responding to any concerns on here is also a person and let’s treat them as such. With respect and without insult slinging.
That being said it is nice to know that Ford has someone here addressing the issues popping up. 👋

I really do understand your point. What I am saying, we don't know what the real problem is, if it's being addressed, and what the estimated time frame of this to be rectified. Communication, not speculation is all I'm asking for.
If you can't get your tattoo needles and a customer has an appointment to get a tattoo, and you can't do the job, do you tell them what the problem is and that as soon as they are received you can do the job. Or, do you not say anything until they show up and just tell them you just can't help them right now, but with no reason?
I totally get where you are coming from, at this point I'd just accept that they aren't going to say anything to help anyone out specifically with information and go about your day. I know its frustrating but if it is any consolation you aren't the only one frustrated

Except that you did make your reservation with the dealer. It might have been on Ford’s website but the reservation is with the dealer. As one of my favorite business school professor’s always said, “your customer is the person who pays you.” We pay the dealer and the dealer pays Ford.

True that Ford markets to us but they do that on behalf of their dealer network. They do it to keep their customer happy. This is the reason Ford caved and did “priority orders”, increased allowcation to their largest dealerships, and is now allowing dealer stock orders. These will be very profitable to the dealers and keep them happy.
I concede, you make a great point😁.

I seriously doubt that they can’t work their way down the reservation list to a buildable order. Of course doing so might mean building and order that is outside the dealership’s allocation
This is exactly what Ford is doing - there is not such thing as "orders outside their allocation." Every dealer has orders. They also have an allocation number for MY21 (which in most cases is about 1/3 of their orders). That doesn't mean Ford will only build from the first 1/3 of the orders.

As an example, if a dealer has 100 orders and an allocation number of 30, and the dealer's September allocation is 10, the dealer is going to get 10 Broncos built in September. Ford is going to go down the list of all 100 orders, starting at the top, looking for Broncos that can be built. They aren't going to stop at #30 and switch to dealer stock. They're only going to build dealer stock when they can't build all 10 from any of the 100 orders.

It's why late reservation holders who have orders in with no constraints have a good chance to see their Broncos in MY21. A BB, soft top, 2.3L, no tow package who is #100 on that dealer's order list is likely to see theirs built this year as long as there aren't 30 other clean orders ahead of him.

I don’t think people really appreciate the impact the pandemic has on large corporations and product launches. It is well beyond constraint items. Your leadership is not only trying to navigate a new product launch, commodity constraints, etc. but also the challenges of an extremely difficult labor market, major changes associated with in-person Work environment, new regulations on work environment, etc. This pandemic (whether you agree with the response) has completely gut-punched companies. Yet, many companies have powered through, continue to employ, continue to deliver a product and are contributing to maintain a stable economy. Maybe a little credit is deserved.

I still want as much information as possible about when my Bronco will be delivered but I don’t fault Ford for all the challenges and hurdles. Don’t kid yourself, this launch would have looked very different without a pandemic.

Part of me thinks half the problem for build date whining is creating by the domino's delivery tracker so people can be updated 20 times a day. They created an expectation that they always be updated. Last time I ordered a vehicle (15 years or so ago) it was simply we'll call you when it's in. No tracker, no calling customer service, just 5 months of moving on with life.

Maybe I've got a different perspective cause I've spent my adult life getting railed by Uncle Sam's big green weenie, but people need relax and stop counting days. Deployments go faster when you don't obsess over time on move on and focus on your job.

Now cue the entitled ones saying how Ford robbed them somehow.
