Hi Guys,

I was just in the dealer and wanted to place a new order and they said a couple of things I wanted to check on. I was going to order several months ago, but saw the issues with the tops(really wanted the modular), and wanted to actually see the size of a Badlands with 33" tires on it, etc. Now I am paying the price and might be waiting for 18 months, etc, but have a couple of questions

1. Dealer said to wait to place an order until September because they cannot enter anything in for 2021 anymore anyway. She said there might be some new options for the 2022s anyway, which makes sense, but at this point I am even worried about getting a 2022

2. I asked if there is anyway I could lock in on price. In other words, if I order a 2022 and end up getting a 2023, do I have to pay the price increases that Ford is going to add in each year? Dealer said Ford did have price lock, but that ended in March and that now I am probably screwed and will have to pay whatever future price that Ford has listed, when it shows up. So if they raise the price for 2022 by 5% and another 5% for 2023 I am looking at a 10% price increase.

Does anyone know if those statements are correct?

Thanks,

Dan

My understanding is the price lock only involves those who had already placed their reservations by a certain date due to delays in manufacturing. I suspect you will have to pay whatever the price is when it is ordered. I would suggest checking out dealers that have offered significant discounts if you're willing to travel.

Thanks - That info helps a lot. I would have already ordered and been locked in, but I really wanted to see it first and wanted the modular top. Now I am looking at a year or two and trying to decide if I should just wait for them to become available, or go with a Jeep for 3-4 years and then see where the market is.

It sure is. Ford doesn’t have price locks from their vendors (steel, roofs, sundry parts), they need to remain profitable too.

Yes - It just sucks when you are ready to buy, forced to wait, and the price keeps going up. I am hoping that if I order on 9/13 that they will lock in my price for a 22, even if it does not arrive until 23

My 2nd go around reservation placed on June 29, which most certainly will be MY 22. The pins & needles to sit upon now of course is just how much price increase - if it's 5 - 10% it may bump me totally out of the game, & thats still referring to a bare bones Base with the training wheels.

Yes - Normally with all the hard top issues(I really wanted a modular top), I would wait until 2023s come out. The reason for waiting is because I do not see being able to get a Bronco before then and the backorders will eventually start catching up, so I could see what changes Ford offers on the 2023s and then place my order(instead of getting a really late 2022). If Ford does not raise the price that much for the 2022(maybe 2%-3%), then I will probably go ahead and order, to avoid the 2023 price increase, and just wait as long as needed. If Ford raises the 2022s by 4-5%, or Ford does not let me lock in on a 2022 price, I am going to order a Wrangler through a dealer that supports treadlightly.org pricing.

I have had several Jeeps, and like these new Broncos a lot better, but if the 2022s jump in price a lot then I will probably break down and go with a Rubicon that is a lot cheaper and let's me enjoy the next 18 months of my life(instead of waiting).

You never know what the future holds, but with inflation at the highest levels anyone under 40 has seen, demand for all vehicles greatly outstripping supply (and vastly moreso for this specific model), and big question marks about the health of the entire automotive supply chain... well, I wouldn't necessarily use past years to predict what the '22 hike will be.

Hi Dan,

Fantastic dealer not too far away -
Chapman Ford of Horsham, PA 19044
( aka @DealerInsider )
I'd contact them - ask your questions - at least you'll get straight answers -
And best prices East of Mississippi I believe -

Last I heard they offer 4% discount ?? - not sure details -

Great dealers like Chapman & Granger have customers in all 50 states -
@DealerInsider updated it for new orders since the reservation period ended.
Here is the current offer….
https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/thre...ith-dealersider-orders-after-09-2-2021.22891/

To answer your questions…

1 Dealer is probably right, I don’t think you can place new 21 orders.

2 also correct sort of, because retail math, it’s a bit different, it winds up being a bit higher than 10% if it goes up 5% and the. Another 5%, but if you do with Tom’s deal you’ll be fine and I think you’d likely wind up with a (late) 22

For a $100 refundable you can order your Bronco. Not sure there is a downside to placing the order. Whatever increase Ford might add to MY22 or MY23 can be compensated by shopping for a better APR or a dealer incentive. Plus resale on the Bronco is going to be very high compared to a Jeep that is a lot more common.

The dealership you spoke with answered your questions correctly and concisely. That is a great sign of a good dealership to deal with. Good luck with your decision, but I would definitely get your dealership to order once the new order banks open for the '22 models.

Yes my dealer is awesome, I'll order for MY22 most likely unless the increase is totally unreasonable. We'll see - hopefully damn soon!!!!

Yes - I am also hoping to order a 2022 as soon as I can if the price increases are reasonable
