Your shifting technique is unique, that's for sure.

Kinda what I thought, but I don't know how other people shift. 🤷‍♂️

had a 5 speed in a '93 Explorer Sport and prior to that a 5 speed in an Aerostar and 3 speed in a '76 Econoline. The clutch without the engine running was crazy easy. With full power on it must be like butter. Can't wait for my Base 2 door MT white one

It was almost like he was finding neutral before he shifted into another gear. 🤷‍♂️ Maybe he’s used to European exotics? I know I’m going to have to remap the gear locations in my head. Only ever had a 5-speed. My fear is throwing it into reverse, thinking it’s 1st. 😳

I think sitting in a parking lot, shifting through gears for a solid ten minutes would wear me out too. But when you’re driving, that’s an unlikely scenario.

Not sure if it's all the little whirly bits moving around inside, but to me the shifting experience always feels a bit different once the engine's on and I'm rolling around. I'd much rather have an early order, but as things stand I'm hoping to see reports of shifting in action from fellow members here before I take the plunge 🤞

That being said, I'll probably go auto regardless 👯‍♂️

That’s a video I’d love to see. Some dude pretending to drive for 10 minutes. 😂 Would need sound effects and a commentary.

I had a '91 sport with the 5 speed. I loved that thing!!

Man, really...I say this with all due respect..."pansy." You had it coming...why'd you even post?
At least you said "with all due respect". That gives you free reign to say whatever you want. Just like how Southerners say "bless their heart" right after something like "that boy hit every branch on the way down the ugly tree".

I agree with you though

The good news is unless you pull up on the collar it can't be done.

True, but I’m gonna look like a fool trying to get in that space the first couple times. 😂

I think it's going to be more disorienting to use crawl when wheeling. Shifting all the way left and down from a stand still is not going to come natural to me. It's going to be like starting in second.

Nothing a short shifter can't fix, as well as a Stainless Steel clutch line
