Question to anyone that might have an inside track (ok, path, trail, snake trail) about fleet sales/use/production.

Wonder if these things will ever have status as Border Patrol, Fish & Game, Bureau Land Management duty. Guessing Base would be the one to go with, unless they go the police route where they special offer non-civilian engines on them. Used Base Camp with say hybrid of some variety, 60k miles on the clock, 4 or 5 years old? Full vinyl seating?

What do you fleet managers/ex-municipal/ex-Bureau Land Management/Border Patrol folks think? Think it might have a chance? How long would Ford need to start pre-selling to those agencies?

Thanks to a sharp-eyed Autoblog reader, it looks like the U.S. Border Patrol has finally received a batch of Ford F-150 SVT Raptors (with factory 17-inch aluminum wheels!) to help guard our southern frontier with Mexico.

The Raptor's single-overhead cam 6.2-liter V-8 is rated at a brawny 411 horsepower and 434 pounds-feet of torque. Its high-performance long-travel suspension was tuned in the rugged Mojave Desert.

Sounds like the Raptor should be perfect for catching Mexican "coyote" smugglers crossing into our country illegally.

We don't have access to the Bronco yet, just the Sport.

I'm pretty sure they'll list the Bronco, but if we can't order it, they may not for at least a year, or they'll list the price but we still won't be able to get one.

The USPS uses right hand drive Jeep Wranglers for rural communities. Link below is about a recall regarding the seat belts, but notes still significant demand for RHD jeep postal vehicles.

I know Ford announced they wouldn't be making RHD Broncos, at least for a time, but certainly a viable option just like the above mentioned fire/rescue concept.

Fleet pricing for "government" came out and I only show the Base available, but it's available.

Local Reservation cops have been running Raptors for several years. Apparently they make a LOT of money from that casino.

I'd expect a .gov Bronco starting in say 2023 or 2024, Presumably with the 3.0 engine from the Explorer Utility.

Most of the State troopers are running Expeditions.
