I was 20ish reservations outside my dealers allocations so I'm hoping they didn't convert some of the orders ahead of me. Unfortunately, I ordered a 2.7L and the black mod top. I would probably be ok waiting until early next year. What has me worried are the people talking about Sept. 2022 deliveries for late reservations.
It's sort of a Catch22 in that if those ahead of you dont covert you move up but at the same time lower conversion numbers at your dealer will impact final allocation. So you may move up but allocation could also drop. Ideal scenario is they convert a lot of reservations behind you which in general seems to go against most expectations I would believe. Earlier reservations are probably more likely to convert I would think.

So..., how does that translate to number of actual orders placed? Rates are fun and all but can be easily manipulated to fit a narrative.
That's right. Like the old saying goes... Figures lie, and lairs figure.

I see a lot of %'s and numbers. Never been involved in a vehicle launch like this but what I do know is I got my spot in line on opening day in July and I'm told by my dealer that I was #1 to convert to an actual order (MY'21). Does anyone have even a wild a$$ guess on what that means for timing to delivery? I'm in metro Cleveland and dealership is a large "automile" type campus so I'm guessing they'll get a decent allocation.

My dealership calculates conversions after removing the cancellations, which were about 40% of the total reservations. I bet actual conversion percentage without removing cancellations will be much lower than 66% nationally.

Ford created a system that is the worst of both worlds, combining the impersonal and poor communication aspects of online ordering with the sleaziness, incompetence, and ignorance aspects of the dealership model.
They're really good at shot like that.
Example:
Upselling the vinyl seating until it was a coveted feature. Lol

Trim packages that leave you wanting just a bit more....

It really depends on what options you ordered. If you didn't get any of the deadly 7 your golden. Good luck

Call Ford and cancel it. No reason to let the dealer have it
I try to call Ford it was a big waste of time
The person told me for my 100$ refund the dealer ship will need to cancel it .... I explain to him again the situation then he try to transfer me to marketing ... I was tired to wait after 20min I give up ...

The dealership state to me in email if ford don't refund me their dealership will.

The dealership don't care to give me back my 100$ at the end if they can sell my reservation with a big adm to someone ..... I have very early reservation I did the night of the launch..

I hope the competitive area factor plays a big role. My Ford dealer shares a side street with a Chevrolet dealer....I'm not certain, but I can bet that the delivery trucks use the same side street to make deliveries. Maybe then my delivery will be Q1 2022 rather than Q2.

Mine didn't (at least I don't think so). They asked for my SSN so they could tie my reservation and my order to my name and social. I thought it was a little odd at first, but looks like it could work out the way it's supposed to. But I understand it only takes a few bad dealers to make the good ones look bad as well.
No dealership needs your SSN to "tie my reservation and my order to my name and social" TOTAL DEALERSHIP BS AND LIES.

The only thing the dealer wanted your SSN for is to run a soft or hard pull on your credit report to see if you can afford or can finance the Bronco.

Easy peasy, we converted 100% of our orders that did not cancel. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I have no one else to blame but myself for having a late reservation, but damn my car might not make it until next year. My husband has resorted to fixing problems himself since he doesn't want to put anymore money into it. I have zero confidence in his abilities under the hood of a car. 🤦‍♀️ It would figure that the first car that I've liked in 16 years would have a massive waiting period.
Car rental companies are doing some good month to month rentals deals right now.. might be worth checking out if your current vehicle croaks
