I just ordered my 2 door Big Bend but got the 32"s and plan to get slightly bigger tires and put them on smoothies. Should I just upgrade the tires now or is it more cost-effective to upgrade later?

What do you think?

You may be able to offload the OE 32's for a bit of cash, just a wild guess at maybe $400 for the set, maybe $500.
Apply that to the cost of what you are wanting to install and see if the $ difference is worth it right now.
If not, as the prior guy said, run the OE tires until you can't stand them anymore, or they wear out and need replacing in a couple years.
*I've been the guy who goes ahead and replaces, sells the old ones and I have no regrets.

I hear ya. If I want it to come with bigger tires I need to upgrade to Sasquatch for $7K+ so no need for that. I guess I'll have to see how goofy they look in person when it arrives.

Lol, yeah.
You might be able to squeeze 33's in there on a BB.
Lots of talk about it but I haven't followed those threads because I know what I'm doing and getting already, so not sure on the consensus.
I am also the guy who stuffs a bigger tire in a fenderwell than OE recommends or the tire store happily agrees to.
35's on a 04 Expedition stock worked. They said it wouldn't. Only got a bit of plastic inner fender rub at full 100% turn with brand new tires.
a 2" shock tower puck lift fixed that, about $100 later. And looked better.
Pic of it stock, before the pucks.

Edit: Technically I guess more like a 34" tire on that Expy. Not a true 35.

Tires last an awful long time. If you want to swap 'em out and you can afford it, do it from day 1. The 32s will have some value.

Life is short and to paraphrase @broadicustomworks when he says, be excellent to one another -- be excellent to yourself, too.

You might be able to squeeze 34.6ers in there on a BB.

Yea I got 33s on my Wrangler without a lift and high clear fenders for years. I'm ok with 32s as long as they don't look corny. https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/attachments/antimatter-blue-bronco-2-door-big-bend-jpg.48336/

Think I can get the plain-jane steel wheels from the factory like on the base?

Oh I'm sure ya can.
You might be able to find someone who wants to offload their steelies also.
And then, of course, there are numerous aftermarket steelie wheels that look pretty good.
And nice Jeep. I love the old-school KC's.

I too am BB and hope to run the 32's as long as I can stand it.
This photo kinda says it all:

Almost good enough. I would prefer a little more aggressive 33 (255/80x17 like this Falken Wildpeak AT3 or Cooper Discoverer.

Also, contrary to popular opinion I like the BB wheels. 7.5 is perfect width and offset and the Carbonized gray goes with the rest of the vehicle.

I plan on getting 33s on BB when my 32s wear out. I got the 4.27 ratio.

Yes not too bad. I just didn't want to seem like I had 4 mini spares on it before I slightly upgraded the rubber to a more aggressive, slightly larger tire with smoothies. Thanks.
