The 'dealer' is ostensibly acting as an agent of Ford Motor Company. Does Ford have absolutely no standards about who carries their banner in the field? If Ford wasn't verging on flat broke they could arrange for mystery shoppers to identify dealers in need of having their ticket pulled.

I think we are too quick to blame dealers...this is Ford's party - they just don't appear to be up to the task.

It’s the dealers man. They have a lot of power and a ton of political power as well. Remember that direct sales of new cars is illegal in most states. Tesla has been fighting these laws for a while.

So, Ford does set standards, but they can’t interfere with dealerships making money. That’s their argument at least.

Is all of this valid? Of course not, but we must all navigate this mess. The more informed we all are, the more level the playing field will be.

I’m so happy I cancelled both my very early reservations. This whole thing- Ford and dealers is a epic shit show. I’ll buy a pre owned one in 2-3 years unless someone else comes out with a more appealing option with a bit more legit towing capabilities.

They told me I was 20/320 allocated. Maybe they meant 320 reservations.

I also ordered at Autonation Bellevue. They're honoring x-plan pricing even though Ford is not offering it.

MIC stands for Molded In Color, carbonized color gray plastic, not painted.

There are only two painted tops, when they become available:
Modular Hard Top, Body Color-Painted
Modular Hard Top, Shadow Black-Painted

Modular means the rear windows come out, they do not on the MIC top.

It’s really sad and pathetic that 90 percent of ford dealerships are run bye a bunch of fucking scum bags. This shit needs to stop ford needs to crack down on those shady dealerships. These dealerships should be fucking honered to take our money especially with COVID 19 and how shitty the economy is doing I emailed my dealer and told them if they don’t do better on pricing I’m pulling my order and switching but giving them a chance to make it wright I told them I don’t need a new car I only have 38000 on my Vw gti

I've found dealerships are either idiots or trying to play favorites with their 2021 allocation.

They took the six limited availability options as "Not for 2021", or they are playing some other kind of game. Mine did this, tried to push me to 22 because i ordered the 2.7l and a Sasquatch.

Uhm, no. I'm one of the first in line. If i had a mid-august reservation sure, but July 13/14? I am well inside of their 21 allocation and possibly #1 or #2. I am in the top 1% of all reservations by reservation number alone. If there is a 2.7L Sasquatch going to be built, I have a very good chance at being one of the few to get one.

I'm probably pushing someone else they have a better relationship with into a 2022 because they ordered late in July. They think the 2021 allocation they have right now is final (it's not) It's based on estimated sales of current reservations across the nation, and as dealerships fail to convert, and others convert many, the numbers will adjust. Ford will build the same number of units but the distribution depends on how orders fall.

We are playing Texas Holdem, we have our first two cards (Our reservation and dealership), and the river is on the table (the allocation, part availability, and production levels) . The games not over yet. We still have two cards to flip, (What everyone else orders and Ford's production planning).
