Build & Price Updated: Auto No Longer Free For Mid-Level Trim + Other Changes

I think the fact that the question was asked for months... MONTHS... about the pricing of the auto and was confirmed and never corrected not a single time by anyone, not Levine, not a single Bronco “specialist” at any of the shows or events, is point #1 why everyone is pissed (myself included). You would think that there would be additional charges for the A10, but that’s why the question was asked repeatedly, with the same answer every time.

If I could find the Levine tweet I would post it repeatedly. If he can’t take the questions and the anger from a group of passionate enthusiasts who have been lied to for months then he should find another profession. I don’t expect him to be active here, but be honest and up front With correct information like you’re supposed to be and don’t feed us garbage and expect us not to notice. If Farley or one of the other suits made the call, Levine is the guy paid to take the heat for it, and I’m sure he’s getting paid plenty to do so.

Any hot takes on the 4DR Base price going from $33200 to $34795? Guess that one had a $9.00 tag too...

It appears it’s the $1,595 Auto transmission that they made standard on the 4dr.

My guess is that's a $9.00 item that is missing the . and is showing $900. In other words, I think they screwed that one up. All of the other models show ~$2,500 for the 4-door upgrade. I'd be willing to make the same bet I made about the transmission that this will be fixed and reduced at actual order time (and hopefully on B&P before then).

That pricing gap has been there since launch. The chances of that going away are slim to none. Same as $5k on 2dr BB for $1,500 of equipment (and priced at that amount on Canadian web site). There are pressure points where Ford can really jack pricing and they do.

What if you ask one of the salesmen in the store and they confirm thats that price and that its just a good value (like Ford did with us).

That might be the case if that $900 TV was $600. I don't know of Ford saying the transmission upgrade was going to be free, but then again, I personally didn't ask because I already knew (from prior shopping experience) that the exact same transmission was $1,595 on other Ford products. Also, given how Outer Banks was priced, ($1,895 for the V6 engine), it was pretty obvious something wasn't right. Who thinks that makes sense that the V6 engine gets a free transmission upgrade? The pricing wasn't consistent and when looking at how the auto was priced elsewhere, including when upgrading from manual to auto without the V6, it was clear that the auto was going to cost $1,595. There were those that understood and prepared for that and there were those that refused to listen to the rationale two months ago and are now unsurprisingly upset by their own making.

Yes, Ford could have made this much better by fixing the B&P errors, much, much, much sooner. They suck for that, but not for charging the same amount for the 10-speed regardless of how you buy it.

I am a potential first time Ford customer. What I have learned so far is that a corporation with 2019 annual revenues of $155.9 Billion cannot consistently communicate with their final clients (us) despite having brand managers, customer experience managers, and a team of people assigned to the Bronco launch, and cannot build a functional, accurate Website with correct pricing. Yes, COVID has affected the manufacturing portion of the Bronco, but COVID has not, and should not affect the other points referenced in my post.

Yet part availability and timing which can affect product content, wouldn't affect pricing? At some point Ford has to release the Bronco for manufacturing, they want to sell it as bad as some people want to buy it. It doesn't seem unreasonable that the B&P is in flux while the production gets worked out to manage part availability.

Again, until anyone can actually order their Bronco at a dealer, the B&P tool is pretty much an estimate at this point. There is a difference between accuracy and precision.

Yep. Unfortunately, I've reached my limit with all of this. It's an awesome ride, but they weren't anywhere near ready to launch this bad boy. It's really a shame and inexcusable that they were surprised by the demand and caught flat footed while bringing back a legendary product. I know there will be many who continue springing to defend Ford with the usual lines (e.g. "They're listening," "Kudos to Ford for getting it right," "COVID COVID COVID, etc." The reality is that it's a joke of a "launch" and they've demonstrated that repeatedly (Stay tuned more to come. LOL).

For me, it has nothing to do with price (Fortunately I've saved enough to pay cash for the BL I reserved) or this issue ( I was always going Manual/Non-Squatch), but would've loved the V6. It's principle at this point and I want to feel good about my purchase. I've wanted one of these since my Dad had one when I was a kid, but not bad enough to buy one from these guys at this particular time. Maybe in the future.

It almost seems that they are so impressed with the enthusiasm, passion and commitment of die hards coupled with the high reservation rate, that they've lost the desire to get it right.

I feel ya fellow Bronco enthusiast. But part of the problem from the customers perspective is that we are seeing how the sausage is made. Never before have I been involved in the release of a car from announcement to order time. And so I get to see every. Single. Detail that's made public. It's easy to critique and be disenfranchised.

I haven't been shopping the 4-door, so I didn't realize it included an auto transmission on the base model. That just further explains what I've been saying all along: the 10-speed auto costs $1,595 no matter how you option a vehicle with it.

Yeah. From day 1, 4DR Base had auto and started at $33,200. Now it starts at $34,795 because they forgot it includes the auto. Shoddy work at best.

How silly of us to expect professionalism from a 100 year old company that sits on the Fortune 500 list, has made this its business, and is known as one of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the world.

What we are seeing here, with people dropping their reservations (not me), is this is a classic example of "death by a thousand cuts"!

Not really surprised by the increase, but this did narrow my choice. Originally planned on the WT since it had all the options I wanted. But I am having hard time warming up to the interior so the back up plan was the BL since I liked the interior. The BL was a little more and had a few options (steel bumpers and disconnect) that I really didn’t want but it was still just under my self-imposed cap. This changed just pushed the BL over that cap.

Now the BL is off the table so I am down to hoping they add another interior option to the WT, decided I am OK with the current interior or just go back to the original plan of getting a 4 door Jeep.

Today was the first time in awhile I started looking back into the Jeep. Know with being able to order the exact options I want, the employee pricing I can get and the almost 3k I have in dealer dollars on my Jeep credit card I could get the 4 door Rubicon I want for 7k-9k cheaper then the Bronco I would want.

Still holding out hope that the Bronco will end up working out since I already have a Jeep and would really like to have one of each, but who knows what other surprises Ford will have for us before the ordering goes live.
