I got that impression from my dealer and Ford customer service. It’s really the build plan against dealer allocation. It’s what you would expect dealers will get roughly the percentage they covert and no one knows how it will look until they know supplyl limitations, order make up and dealer dispersion. I moved my Oder to a smaller dealer near my cottage, they have 15 orders , mine is one of the earliest. If I order something that makes availability limited (heck, it could be stock BL wheels or the HD front axle that is in short supply, who knows) I still end up delayed. If it’s in one of the first builds, maybe BL has good order numbers and availability, so they go early and I get it in late July. It’s just one of several factors. If Order and the build is my 22, I buy my current F150 that is already priced about right and drive it until I can get a 22 or 23 with some incentives possibly. Nothing to do about it but work the process. It does make me wonder if I should order a BD non SQ and just see if it’s an early build. You could likely sell it after 6 months for what you bought it for (I am z plan, I think it is a 6 month owned requirement) and order whatever I want if it isn’t exactly what I wanted. He also reconfirmed that Ford corporate is prioritizing reservation holders that convert BEFORE any stock. That is to say the allocation really just is the round robin system so that is not horrible.
