Hey y'all! Long time no see. Sold my '23 Everglades back in September 2023 right at the tail end of when the Broncos were going for crazy money. Dealer offered me a price I couldn't refuse when I came in for a free oil change.

Anyways, I have now ordered another Bronco after the hype has died down a hair, but this time a 2026 Ruby Red Badlands w/ Lux, Color matched hardtop, Leather, SAS, and the (for now) 2.7LV6 and 10SPD Auto. I ordered on a Tuesday (6/16/2026) and was immediately scheduled & issued a VIN that same week on Thursday (6/19/2026). I noticed when I received the confirmation for build week 8/17/2026 that my order was missing SAS and keypad. I know that in the past when I had my original order from 2021, there were no changes allowed after the VIN was issued, but oddly enough when my dealer updated the order, Ford's system accepted the change and I now am showing to have SAS and keypad online.

My wife and I are wanting to change in our order to forgo the 2.7LV6/10SPD to instead have the 2.3L/7SPD Manual combo. I put in the request to my dealer, and the salesman says he'll let his manager know when he is back in office in a few days since he on PTO. My salesman thinks it is a gamble on if Ford will accept a change this time around. My question for all those of knowledge, what are my chances that Ford accepts the change? What are y'all's experience or suggestions? Maybe message Ford chat during their open hours for their thoughts?

It is not the end of the world if Ford denies the change as I loved the 2.7L on my test drive before I ordered this 2026, but something about having a 7SPD manual in a 2026 SUV just really sounds great, especially with the manuals being a dying breed. I already daily drive a manual Cummins, so I'm more than comfortable with it as a daily, and my '23 had the 2.3L 4cyl which felt more than enough for the Bronco.

More than excited to be back in another Bronco...especially after trying my hand at another Jeep last year and fully regretting my Bronco sell. Thanks y'all!!

This is just my experience with my dealer take with the mandatory salt grain, but I just went through this.

I realized I forgot to request the HD modular bumper on my '26 order. By the time I realized my VIN was assigned and given a build date and the fleet manager said it was too late.

Adding a keypad after VIN assigned is no big deal. Surprised that the Sasquatch package was added, though. My guess is that the Badlands already has all the mechanical bits of the Sasquatch package and the change only amounts to a wheel/tire package with extended flares.

But asking for a powertrain change after VIN is assigned, I give it a 0.0% chance.

Seeing as your dealer has plenty of allocation and minimal orders, you can always order it again with the manual. Your dealer will be happy to have a loaded Badlands to sell on the lot.

Making changes to a scheduled order has always been available with some exceptions. Recently Ford changed how many days out from the build date that changes could be made. I believe it is currently 30 days out from build date. Because a VIN number is given, anything affecting that can not be changed. That would be the engine since the 8th digit tells you the engine.

Got it, I just heard back from my dealership with them saying the same thing. I appreciate all the comments and help though!

Wow how were you issued a build date and VIN so quickly? I ordered mine on 6/8 and got an email confirmation from ford right away but no date or VIN yet.

It's a 4 door with the 2.7/auto. Those of us who ordered a 2 door 2.3/MT are going to have a much longer wait based on how Ford produces them in batches. I ordered mine on 6/20, and it will probably be a Q4 delivery.

It’ll be worth it but damn if this hasn’t already been the longest month of my life!

It shouldn't take that long to get scheduled. As long as your dealer has an allocation for this month, which starts scheduling next week. You should get a September build date with delivery to dealer in October. Manual is being built at about 1-3% but there aren't even 1% unscheduled orders in the order bank right now.

I was thinking the same thing. I ordered a 2026 Badlands Sasquatch on March 30, made a couple small changes on April 14, didn't get a VIN until May 14, and then only got the build date a couple weeks ago. It got built this week. And the app says expected delivery is September. Seems like forever. My first one (in my photo) only took 2 weeks from time of build to day I bought it.

bingo, he’s exactly right. My dealer told me originally if I had ordered a manual I’d be waiting a while.
